Turns on jest mode :There will be an influx of "When will it be used on Glasgow LL service" questions from somebody now
According to people on Scot-rail, the interior refurb is not complete. Parts are in the new colour scheme, parts retain the old one. Sounds like a pretty poor attempt IMHO.
(I know this is going to start more arguments off...)
A press release is very unlikely, as this is an internal fleet improvementthen do their press release thing
I wonder why ScotRail released one for the new 314 refresh then...
For those of you who are interested, there is a 380 working the North Berwick line today (11-Jun-11)
The Class 318 units make the same traction motor cooling noiseGenius. I even like the weird 'muuuuh' noise the middle carriage makes.
What I really want to know is this: have they kept the paintings of Glasgow (People's Palace, Kelvinhall Art Gallery etc.) on the carriage ends, or are they a victim of the refurbishment? I guess time will tell.

I know a lot of people don't like the 320s, but I do. I think they have character. Hot air vents next to the doors? Genius. I even like the weird 'muuuuh' noise the middle carriage makes.

320314 has been at Shields for staff training on the new toilet.
Was gonna say that is a $hit excuse,
I was advised it was due to a new Risk Assessment having to be carried out, due to a major change in the rolling stock facilities320314 has been at Shields for staff training on the new toilet. No point sending it out if nobody has a clue how to rectify simple faults whilst it's out on service.

There are some staff training issues, not just with the toilet, but some other minor changes that have taken place
The unit will then have to spend a small amount of time at Yoker and Corkerhill for depot staff there to be trained and made aware of where the retention tank controls are
Therefore I would expect it to visit Corkerhill next, then the following day make its way to Yoker, and enter service from there
Equally, I wasn't aware toilet faults were rectified whilst in service
Normally the unit has the toilet locked out of use and is attended to at the end of duty
There was a report in early May from Transport Scotland that there was previously an issue with Class 320 clearance at Dalmarnock, which Network Rail were still working on and due for report within 6 weeks (end of June)
I have not yet seen any confirmation this has been resolved, but I would imagine it has by now
I've also read about other issues in the Hamilton area, but nothing reported from either ScotRail or Network Rail about this
In passenger use?320's pass Dalmarnock all the time so I am not sure what the issue is
The current number of units meets the planned PVR, once they are all accepted, assuming the other 6 are accepted next week, this then gives 1 additional spare unit and 380114/116 then increases this to 3 additional spareLooks like 2 x 322 will now remain in service for at least the first week in July as 380114/116 have still no made an appearance yet from Germnay
