Does anyone know what testing the 345's are doing this week from Ilford EMUD? I'm off Thursday and wanted to head into London to snap one out and about...
Aren't the TfL units a different length?
All I can find is this little group which is down for all this week, Friday excepted. Don't know if it's 345s or not. Can't think of anything else that'd be running back and forth empty all morning at the moment though?
Might go and check it out one day this week. Note they seem to all run into and out of Liv.St as part of their journey (apart from 5G90/95).
Little too late! There is a small part in the latest RAIL magazine that will show you, I managed to find a 345 in service! It sort of didn't operate some runs in the morning out of Ilford, but turned up with an unidentified STP headcode at Shenfield whilst I was down at Southend and luckily enough, it decided to proceed down to Southend as planned. Had to go quite far out of London just to catch it though, presumed it wasn't running so nearly went to the airport at Southend instead! Glad I stayed now...
pretty sure the Class 710 are 20m carriage length? Rather than the 22.22m of the Class 345

If it's the one in Wembley Yard then it is 345 002, was meant to be taken to Old Dalby yesterday but didn't go due to the OHL problems at Old Linslade.Another 345 at Willesden this evening, didn't catch the number
And if referring to the 720s both sub-classes will be different lengths
10 car - 240m so 24m carriages
5 car - 110m so 22m carriages
That's gonna be very narrow especially using 3+2!
In passenger service?

Is it running at all today?
Quick question - how would I be able to use Realtime trains to track a class 345?

Here's a link for ZZ movements at Ilford EMUD for this coming Monday.

Of particular note is the STP working set for this day only, from Doncaster west yard. Not necessarily a 345 though. Could even be another class of unit returning from Wabtec or something.
That I'll be a 321 returning from Wabtec after refurbishment, a clue is in the timing load 321.
Ok cheers, thanks for the info. That's a bit touch and go unfortunately. When I went to see a 345 at Shenfield, nothing turned up despite the path being activated on RTT. In the end I went to Southend and it turned up at Shenfield upon arrival at Southend! It was running a VSTP movement to Southend, where I saw it, and then ran the booked movements from Southend onwards. I believe they run as ZZ, so under freight as the have freight drivers. Keep an eye out for any ZZ paths out of Ilford EMUD.
That is very helpful too, thank you. Here's a link for ZZ movements at Ilford EMUD for this coming Monday.

005 went out around 09:00 this morning and 006 is heading out now so plenty of opportunities to see them today
