Class 70 017 due Jan 2012

Apparently 70017 is in a ship on its own that has set sail for Liverpool docks already - ETA 12ish Jan 2012. This makes sense as I seem to recall that 70012 went back that way so it looks like single locos go via Liverpool and anyway the usual sea route should now be blocked by ice. I think the difference is that this is on a roll-on-roll-off boat (anyone confirm ?).

If the above is true than I wonder why 70017 is arriving separately. Did it get finished too late for the shipment via the great lakes ?. Was the previous ship full at four locos. Or is this the way the rest are coming. Probably just depended on what shipping capacity is available at a good price and possibly what was available at the last minute.

I thought the Turkish ones were being built in Turkey, plus have different Loading Gauge, which was the fuss with 70013.

surely they will ship 017/018 together from Newark at least since they're not that far apart

The ship Atlantic Companion has arrived at Liverpool (09:09 10/01/2012) presumably with 70017 in it. Wonder if 70018 made it to the port in time ?.

Reported elsewhere that 70018 is on board the Atlantic Cartier and has left Halifax en route to Liverpool due 16.00 on 16th Jan but obviously due to weather etc this may slip.
