70018 has defenatly been in service at least a week, it's visited Peterbrough on crew training a few times and I believe it has worked a container from Lawley Street (Birmingham) to Southampton. I was shocked to see it last Tuesday pass Tamworth LL light engine (nice Valentine's present :D)
Thanks, Sam

18 failed this morning on the up at about 08:30 near Widney Manor (a few hundred yards south of the station) and blocked the line for about three hours, which caused utter chaos with the Moor Street - Marylebone and Stourbridge - Dorridge services.

70005 (I believe) was waiting light on the Severn Bridge Junction south curve at Shrewsbury yesterday afternoon.

Not really got any opinion on them myself - certainly distinctive but not interestingly so.

I've got a special interest in these as I went out to Erie to test them and train their staff on TPWS.

Rare picture that-thanks for posting it.I've not seen any shots of the 70's inside the works during construction etc.Wonder if the damaged 70012 that was sent back is still in existence?,Chris.
