Um, 707s? Are you aware what thread this is? HSTs are moving to Scotrail, not 707s!!!
Do we know when a forth diagram will be introduced?
Read the bolded word carefully.

Serious answer, however, is that now we've got 7028+7029 available for service, hopefully not long now subject to crew knowledge. Or they may be waiting for the December timetable change.

Looks like two of the diagrams are pairs of 450 or 455 vice pair of 707 today;

08:22 London Waterloo to Weybridge due 09:39
Facilities on the 08:22 London Waterloo to Weybridge due 09:39.
Will be formed of 8 coaches instead of 10.

08:28 London Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside due 09:24
Facilities on the 08:28 London Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside due 09:24.
Will be formed of 8 coaches instead of 10.
Last Updated:14/11/2017 06:16

plus all of the other trains associated with these two diagrams today

08:22'weybridge is a pair of 458s not 707s

My apologies. I had assumed from post #1765 above that the 0822 Weybridge should now be 707s

My apologies, I didn't see that post. I saw the 08:22 Weybridge and return and it was a UID pair of 707s. I assume this is the latest diagram.

707028+29 are doing diagram 3 today, just seen them on 2S64. They got accepted quickly didn't they? They can't have had much mileage testing? Or do they only need to do mileage with the first few of a new class?

They have been in public use since at least the 3rd November.

I think the 458s were 5k for the first fair then 1k for subsequent pairs so I'd assume it's similar. Remember a lot of the issues that kept resetting the clock on the first couple of pairs have been fixed.

Ah OK thanks. Slightly changing subject, but I noticed earlier at Chertsey they've put up a sign under the triple monitors on the southbound side, saying "not for use with 10 car trains", and they've added just a twin monitor set a bit further back along the platform. What's that all about? Are they in the wrong place for the centre of a 10/707 set or something? I know the 707s have onboard cams but the guard refers to the platform monitors still I assume?

The non 10 coach monitors don't cover all 10 coaches of platform. Hence you can't use them to dispatch safely.

It's been like that since the extension opened. As mentioned the monitors roughly in line with the rear cab of a single unit don't have a view of the entire unit.

Ah ok cheers that clears that up.

"diagram 4" is 10/707 again today. Just got off 2S26 and today the units are 011+012, looks like 010 got removed at some point and replaced by 012.

Also just seen 47815+barriers still at Clapham. 026+027 passed me at Feltham on 5Q31.

Diagram 2
5C87 0534 Farnham Depot-Reading
2C88 0654 Reading-London Waterloo
5Y17 0942 London Waterloo-Clapham Yard
5C55 1726 Clapham Yard-London Waterloo
2C55 1750 London Waterloo-Reading
5C56 1920 Reading-Farnham Depot

2C55 1750 Waterloo-Reading seems to have reverted back to 2*450. Perhaps this is a side effect of the pack of cards on the Windsor line being shuffled with the introduction of the 4th 707 diagram? 2C93 1735 Waterloo - Reading is still producing 2*458 despite all the station PIS displays showing it as load 8 (and its return 2C64 1909 Reading - Waterloo)

I was surprised when a 2*458 turned up on the 0721 from Reading yesterday. Station PIS still showed 8 coaches.

I expect the situation will be pretty fluid between now and the full service introduction of 707s. There may be a few nasty surprises come the December timetable change too, temporarily at least anyway.

Is there any reason why none of the 707's are in SWR colours, even though most of them never entered service with South West Trains?

Yes. The bodyshells were all built and painted before SWR took over.

If anyone is interested the ROG 47s are heading down to Dollands Moor at the moment, which suggests that another 707 delivery is imminent. Exactly when, I don't know.
