Could anyone confirm to me what the plans are regarding the 730s? So many stuff going about I'm lost. Any help is always appreciated.

Crewe-Stafford-Crewe [1tph]
Birmingham-Liverpool-Birmingham [SX 1tph with 2tph Peak & SO All Day 2tph]
Birmingham-Rugeley-Birmingham [2tph]
Crewe-London-Crewe [1tph]
Fair to say that apart from the Walsall-Wolverhampton route (planned for 29th January 2024) and cross-city routes through Birmingham there are no confirmed plans as to where the 730's will be operating and to what frequency. No confirmed date for introduction of the 730/2's yet, i've heard anything from mid 2024 to 2nd quarter 2025.

Thank you for clarifying this, this is a big help and solves my query. So much info out there that I get lost quite quick in it all.

I believe it's as below, though I don't think much has been confirmed. This is based off the current crew which are training (Crewe Drivers only, Wolves, New St, Cov).

Crewe-Stafford-Crewe [1tph] - 350

Birmingham-Liverpool-Birmingham [SX 1tph with 2tph Peak & SO All Day 2tph] - 350 &/or 730 (can't go 730 until Crewe guards are trained)

Birmingham-Rugeley-Birmingham [2tph] - 350

Crewe-London-Crewe [1tph] - 730

Walsall-Wolverhampton - 730

Cross City line - 730

Why is Birmingham - Liverpool 2tph all day Saturday but only peak times Monday - Friday?

Any snagging issues or failures yet? With the silliness with the new Merseyrail sets (aka clown cars) I'm just intrigued to see how on day #5 these contraptions are getting on?

What about London - Milton Keynes/Tring? Weren't they announced as being 730 routes too, with 350s out of Euston mainly limited to Birminghams?
It's really confused me why you've written the routes as if they're circle services too.

I think it's a temporary measure until 730s are on the route. Either that or DfT not wanting to fund a full 2tph service

I didn't write the routes, I just replied to it.

Yes 730s for those too, the post was regarding services in the WMs

The toilet was labelled out of order on 730006 according to the screens this evening!
If that's it - all there is, I'll let them have that one.

Tis hopefully a sign of systemic poorly managed servicing, not poor trainbuilding.

Hopefully so. I must say I did prefer the ex 1st class seats in 319433 though...

No failures, only issues i've heard about are a leak from the roof on day one which saw the units swapped out, doors not opening at one station until a reset was done, delay as someone set a smoke detector off when vaping in the toilet, and a delay when someone pulled a passenger alarm.

Sorry It's the way I work things out at my end, making it easier for me.

North Cross-City is 2tph on Sundays.

South Cross-City is 3tph on Sundays (with either a 10, 20 or 30 min gap), as there are 2tph to Redditch and 1tph to Bromsgrove to Birmingham NS only.
Well on villa matchdays there’ll be shuttles between Witton and New Street using 730/0s

I think when I passed there on Tuesday it was 730.015 that is attached to 001. 016 and 018 on the outside and 021 on its own nearest the tunnel
