Returns on Monday, with a diagram to Bromsgrove and Redditch. Haven't seen the finalized diagrams yet but the Bromsgrove one will be different I believe.
I thought a post further back in this thread had stated that the 730 aren't cleared on the route from Barnt Green to Redditch yet.
Maybe that's changed.

Believe they might not be stopping at Barnt green towards Birmingham unless they now been cleared to stop.

Heard myself, that the route from Alvechurch to Longbridge area, will need setting up, ie due to positioning of signal on platform at Barnt Green, ie a clear run, Alvechurch to Longbridge non stop, However that will mean, delays to main line and local services from Bromsgrove, as they will be disrupted and having to be brought to a stand at Barnt Green from the Bromsgrove direction, To allow Redditch services priorities on a 730. But this to will cause congestion on main line.
Again unless recently now cleared for a stop.

As above, they are cleared to stop at Barnt Green P3 effective from Monday. ASDO will lock out the rear 2 coaches on a 6 car formation.

Is this due to their being an unusually large gap between the train and the platform?
Yes, that is correct, the gap is huge. Also, due to signal sighting of SY9, the 730 stop board has been brought back and, therefore, a full 6-car formation will not be accommodated on the platform.

This was the case up until now for 6-cars. Now that ASDO has been fully configured to lock out the rear 2 coaches on P3 at Barnt Green, this instruction is now withdrawn.

Is there a definitive source for what the new Cross City class 730 diagrams are? Postings on here and Part Time Spotter don't match...

I saw a 730 stop at University at 7:35 heading north this morning.

Which makes it:

Redditch - 07:01
B'ham New St - 07:46
Four Oaks - 08:10

RTT link

This diagram doesn't appear to be on Part Time Spotter yet.

I think I've worked it out as the following:

Bromsgrove Diagram:
Starts ECS from Soho, then 0535 BHM to LTV
0639, 0939, 1239, 1539, 1839, 2139 from LTV
0803, 1103, 1403, 1703, 2003, 2303* from BMV
Stables overnight in FOK P3 when 2303 from BMV arrive. Becomes Redditch diagram the following day.

Redditch Diagram:
Starts at FOK having stabled in P3 overnight
0546, 0816, 1046, 1316, 1546, 1816, 2046 from FOK
0701, 0931, 1201, 1431, 1701, 1931, 2201 from RDC
Returns ECS to Soho

Station codes:
FOK = Four Oaks, RDC = Redditch, LTV = Lichfield Trent Valley, BMV = Bromsgrove, BHM = Birmingham New Street

730020 and 730008 are working the delayed 19:31 Redditch to Four Oaks. I have to say that these trains really seem to struggle on a wet rail, which combined with the slow door cycles makes timekeeping very poor.

Is there a list of all the 730/2s that have been delivered so far? I saw picture of 2 that have left Derby today I believe, 214 and another one? 219 maybe?

Today's Wolverhampton - Walsall services are worked by 730019.
The two pairs on Cross-City services are 730008+730020 and 730011+730017.

Just got off 730008 and 020 at new street where they had a door fault and the guard had to come through and open manually.

The other pair had traction issues (according to RTT) earlier on in the day on the four oaks - redditch runs, 12:02 dep off Redditch started late at Barnt green. I watched them out of Longbridge

Opening the doors on the Cross city line is obviously something that needs working on

Have not seen any 730/2s yet. Probably will not be in service until 2025.
They're testing daily on mileage runs between Nuneaton and Crewe, I wouldn't imagine they'll go further south until they need to. All 36 have been built. The current desire is late 2024 for entry to service.

That'll either be meant to say late 2024 or early 2025.

Anyone want to take a bet on whether they'll finish introducing them before SWR does the 701s? <D
