Does anybody know the loco/s that UK Rail Tours will be using for their ‘Crewe Open Day or Medieval Chester’ tour? Thanks
Highly likely.Bookface has 47501/810...……...possibly.
Highly likely.
Apologies if I got in the way of anyone’s picture
Yes I did. Nice touch for it to be free and hope it paid its way many times over.Anyone take the Routemaster over to the heritage centre?
Apologies if I got in the way of anyone’s picture! What a busy afternoon, well worth it. Anyone take the Routemaster over to the heritage centre?
The way some people yelled at those even remotely in the way today was appalling. I don't know if anyone on here was witness to that (and hopefully not the perpetrators).
Yes. As well as annoying a few people on the APT with the buzzer.... umm not me!Apologies if I got in the way of anyone’s picture! What a busy afternoon, well worth it. Anyone take the Routemaster over to the heritage centre?

Running very late this morning... held up for nearly an hour at Willesden West Junction... looking good if very wet through Cheddington though

I don't think I will ever understand people who go to a public event and expect the public not to be there...Ridiculous. Several thousand people in a confined area on a rainy day and you expect a clear shot!
Very well said. The positioning of some stalls was very bad. You could only fit 2 people at a squeeze past the loco. How are you meant to photograph that?I think it works both ways - there are some people who are impatient and shout at others, when often a polite 'excuse me', or waiting a couple of minutes, will suffice. On the other hand, there are those who seem totally unaware of their surroundings and do not spot that they are the one person who is in the way of 10 people trying to get a shot. A bit more tolerance on both sides is probably needed!
The number of exhibits the organisers had managed to bring to the event was amazing - although some were pretty difficult, if not impossible, to photograph reasonably (and remember, that is the reason why a lot of people attend). Those that were, could be got with a little patience, particularly towards the end of the day when things quietened down.
Probably my only real criticism (other than the weather, I can't hold the organisers responsible for that!) was the sales stands in the main shed. There wasn't enough space to walk past when people were stopped at the stall, and I have to say I didn't really feel comfortable browing in such a confined space, so I didn't spend as much time at those stands as I normally would.
That's apparently because 47 501 on the front of it broke down moments after leaving Euston; they had to loop it to run 47 810 round from the back

To be honest far better value at the heritage centre than the open day.
And it was dryer!
Hopefully there will be more space at Kingmoor in July. I'm looking forward to that.
Did everthing turn up as planned in the list afew posts (#55) ago ?
