Northern Rail, FTPE and CrossCountry all experiencing delays due to a person being hit by a train at Crossgates.

Seems to have been a lot this week, thoughts to all involved in all incidents.

Normally a peak about this time of year, people have a 'plastic' Christmas, the bill arrives mid January for mid February payment. Being depressed with the long nights, bad weather, not seeing the kids etc and not being able to pay the credit card bill is the last straw.

Thats my thoughts on the subject anyway.

Some time ago a relative worked as a volunteer call-handler for The Samaritans for many years. She later confirmed that the Christmas period was always the busiest time of the year - second to which was the time around Valentine's Day. Obviously she did not discuss the matter any further than that, but sadly there would appear to be some truth in what 455driver says. It must make a very distressing (and often sudden and unexpected) event even more so for all those affected.

Seems to be a rise in them on LU at the moment as well, the 1977 section of the Jubilee Line was down yesterday for some time due to a Person Under a Train, not to mention the countless times it happens on the Vic recently, it's starting to even have >1 per day...
