There's a gala at, it's either Wensleydale or Weardale, this weekend, I find, at which 55002 (and 19) are scheduled to appear, so maybe it's en route to that.

*Wensleydale, yes.

I've heard a rumour, and it's nothing more than that, that "Royal Scots Grey" would be returning to GBRf to work the local Alcan steel trips in Northumberland from tomorrow, running straight to Lynemouth today. Just thought I'd mention it.

Are 55002/019 registered to work on the main line at the moment? I lose track...

Copied from the Deltic forum:

"0Z55 departed castleton at 13.35, 'Royal Scots Grey' light engine Bury to North
Blyth via Calder Valley, Dewsbury, Leeds, York and ECML.

Cheers,

Martin...."

And

"22 just approaching York, now know she's heading for Lynemouth to work the
empties to North Blyth tonight, departure time booked at 20.09....."

Martin being RSG's owner

55022 is the only mainline Deltic at present that can operate under its own power. The others can only be dragged at present.

I had a feeling that that was the case, but didn't know if anything had changed in the last few months.
