Metro products tend to be quite bespoke. Inneo is more of a brand than a product.

The depot expansion at Derby Etches Park has also been affected by the BGCL collapse.
I really am surprised by the increased extent of weekend DLR closures, which are described on posters as being principally due to "testing the new trains". Apart from those recently experienced, in December every weekend one or other of the lines through Canning Town is impacted, and for the first one, December 2-3, every line there is closed the whole weekend. Now the DLR concession operator before the current one certainly had it in their contract there could be only one weekend closure of each branch per year, but now it seems to be open house.

I'd agree, very smart. Is it just me, or did anyone else get seaside resort vibes from that photo? It looks like it wouldn't be out of place in somewhere like Santa Monica, for example.

Rumours are TfL are starting to thin out existing fleet, ahead of new fleet being ready, with B92 set 88 leaving on 13th Nov, and B90 set 38 leaving 2 days later 15th Nov, both going to CF Booths at Rotherham.
Has anyone else heard if these rumours are true and fleet will be leaving at 2 day intervals

Is that wise given Xmas passenger numbers are normally extremely high. How much slack does the fleet have?
Losing 8-10 units by Xmas seems high. It's then quiet until mid Jan when numbers rise quite a lot once again.
Unless they're confident they can get some new stock in service earlier.

The only units that have left for scrap so far are the ones that are long-term out of use. As far as I am aware, there won't be any more leaving after 88 (long term out of use) and 38 have left. There is no increase in service or units used over the Christmas period when compared to the rest of the year
I've read various reports that a clever suspension design is supposed to reduce it.

The existing trains seem to have been allowed to "let go" for maintenance, external corrosion underneath the windows can now be seen noticeably on several units, which have never shown the slightest deterioration before.
The hunting is apparently a feature of the way the tyres are turned, to handle the sharp turnouts. I actually recall it being pronounced at certain points on the system opening day back in September 1987.

I live right by Stratford International and I've seen them out twice - once leaving Stratford Int'l and once after leaving Pudding Mill Lane (I was on a Greater Anglia train going past, so didn't get a picture). I do agree that the old trains seem a bit more worn down though, but I suppose TfL doesn't want to invest much in keeping them decent if they're off to be scrapped soon.
