All the folks who believed the idiotic nonsense spread by QAnon and other right wing nut cases, must be wondering when Trump is actually going to declare martial law and start executing all the traitors.
Oh some of them are certainly still on that particular train and even believe that it’ll be happening at the inauguration ceremony.

What else can he do now he's left the White House - could there be any more pardons or other random stuff before 1200 ET or is it safe to assume he's actually gone now?

He holds the powers of the President until 1200 (or maybe 1159 in reality) so he could do anything that a President can do. It would seem to be extraordinarily unlikely but the reality is he is still President for the time being.

Mostly Glasgow-ish. Mostly.

Just over two hours of presidency left, an hour of it still while onboard AF1. I wouldn't rely on him not trying something else until 11:59:59 EST.

If the Secret Service have anything about them, they will have replaced all the AF1 tech with Etch-A-Sketches & are busily distracting the man-child with these and living streaming Fox & Friends.

Apparently he's adhered to at least one transitional tradition by leaving a note for Biden on the Oval Office desk. Can't imagine what he's written but I'm betting it was in crayon.

I'd really like to see it - it would be fascinating.

That's sort of what I was expecting, thanks - I was thinking it would be traditional to not do anything but I suppose who knows with Trump.

A very brief one as Joe's being sworn in now, 10 minutes early! Not hanging about are they!

Was it early as a security measure against someone trying to disrupt it, or Trump trying something at the last moment, or is it just the clocks in Washington DC running fast?

Watching along and and finding it very uplifting while at the start of another dark winter's night in Glasgow.

It's heartening definitely, and I've not got any connection to the place! I'd forgotten just how oddly religious it is though, and decided to duck out when they brought someone in to do a benediction

(pps, this is probably best put in one of the other threads, and this thread left unused until something of note happens to DJT. The pain of knowing that he's no longer being talked about on here will be immense to such an ego driven person ;))

Well Dominion are suing Rudy Giuliani for $1.3Bn for unsubstantiated claims regarding their voting machines, hope they win!

CNBC said:
Dominion Voting Systems filed another defamation lawsuit, this time against Rudy Giuliani, accusing him of spreading lies to “purposefully mislead voters” and causing “irreparable harm” to the company. It didn’t rule out suing former President Donald Trump.
“While pushing the disinformation campaign that incited death threats and violence and caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damage, Giuliani cashed in by hawking gold coins, supplements, cigars, and protection from ‘cyberthieves,’” Dominion legal counsel Thomas Clare said in a statement Monday.

Giuliani was deeply involved in Trump’s efforts to overturn his loss to President Joe Biden in the 2020 election. The former New York City mayor argued repeatedly in public that Trump’s win had been stolen by widespread electoral fraud.
Dominion accuses Giuliani of promulgating the “Big Lie” that Dominion had tampered with votes to fix the election for Biden, in order to “financially enrich himself, to maintain and enhance his public profile, and to ingratiate himself to Donald Trump for money and benefits he expected to receive as a result of that association.”
The lawsuit, filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., seeks more than $1.3 billion in compensatory and punitive damages. Dominion said in the 107-page legal complaint that its employees have been stalked, harassed and threatened as a “direct, foreseeable, and intentional result” of Giuliani’s “viral disinformation campaign.“

Giuliani “actively propagated disinformation to purposefully mislead voters,” Dominion CEO John Poulos said in a statement. “Because Giuliani and others incessantly repeated the false claims about my company on a range of media platforms, some of our own family and friends are among the Americans who were duped.”
Asked during a press call if Dominion would take legal action against Trump himself, Clare replied, “We’re not ruling anybody out.”

It's highly likely they'll win though they'll never squeeze that figure from him. All his money's tied up in hair dye.
And even that’s trying to distance itself from him.

Not likely to be able to wring that much from him, but good on them nonetheless. Should go after Lin Wood and Sidney Powell next.

They sued her a couple of weeks ago. Rudi is the second case they're bringing to court.

(CNN) - Dominion Voting Systems has filed suit against Sidney Powell, the lawyer who pushed false election claims for the Trump campaign, claiming defamation and deceptive trade practices.

The company seeks more than $1.3 billion in damages.

In the extraordinarily detailed lawsuit filed in federal court in Washington on Friday, the company outlined Powell's TV appearances and online posts -- including when she repeated her unfounded beliefs that Dominion was linked to communist Venezuela and Georgia officials were in on election fraud -- and how those were amplified by President Donald Trump and his supporters online.

In slightly less hopeful news, New York Times reporting that Republican senators voted en masse to try to block Trump's impeachment trial. Only 5 of the 50 Republicans voted to proceed with the trial (Trial will proceed thanks to the votes of the 50 Democrats).

NYTimes said:
A majority of Republicans rallied on Tuesday against trying former President Donald J. Trump for “incitement of insurrection,” with only five members of his party joining Democrats in voting to go forward with the impeachment trial for his role stirring up a mob that attacked the Capitol.

The 55 to 45 vote cleared the way for Mr. Trump’s second impeachment trial, by narrowly killing a Republican effort to dismiss the charge as unconstitutional. But it strongly suggested that the Senate did not have the votes to convict the former president. The opposition of all but a handful of Republicans underscored Mr. Trump’s continued strength in the party even after his brazen campaign to overturn his election defeat, fueled by false claims of voting fraud, and the deadly assault by his followers after he urged them to go to Congress to fight the result.
