Due to a fault on a train between Grantham and Newark North Gate the Northbound line is blocked.

LNER 5 car is a set that was dumped there on Saturday night during disruption .Looks like somethings been turned round at Peterborough, now seeing an "LNER 5CAR" on Traksy aswell as 1S28 - unsure what that's doing but it's 100 mins down however is ages away - not even anywhere near Grantham!
50mph to platform 3 at Newark.1D81 appears to have moved forward.
800205 sat at Peterborough 5 (terminated short from 1B90 on 09/12)LNER 5 car is a set that was dumped there on Saturday night during disruption .
Yes, manager on 1N94 said additional stop/s nowWonder if it's going to be a special stop order at Doncaster since 1N94 is scheduled to be 1st stop York?
And sensibly 1N94 has gone into platform 2 to allow a cross platform interchange. Fortunately not much on the up.1D81 and 1N94 now on the move, 1D81 terminating at Newark, passengers being picked up by 1N94

Sadly I've got nothing better to do than watch the soap opera called ECML on Tracksy! Still better than Coronation St!Looks like it's been signalled into P2 at Newark to allow for cross-platform interchange. A good move, assuming that's planned!
EDIT: @Peterthegreat beat me to it!
800205 finically moved north tonight as 5F05 21:00 Peterborough to Doncaster depot.800205 sat at Peterborough 5 (terminated short from 1B90 on 09/12)
800208 sat at Grantham Goods Line (formed as 1Z99 from Lincoln Terrace on 09/12 as a result of 1B91 being cancelled)
1D81 unit shunted into the sidings at Newark Station.2 things:
Where did 1D81 go, now a Lincoln LNER in P3 at Newark.
Why does it look like another Bradford-bound 180 has broke down near Newark?
If it was high winds that caused the dewirement then might help but if it was component failure in the headspan then what we need is a campaign to change out fatigued components.Surely there must be a case now to add extra OHLE supports betwwen existing supports and this should cause less problems.
It seems Network Rail had such a campaign 10 years ago according to this Rail Engineer article. If it was high winds that caused the dewirement then might help but if it was component failure in the headspan then what we need is a campaign to change out fatigued components.
And I suppose Thameslink should as well, on the arguably more heavily trafficked section south of Peterborough?LNER should go back to diesel operation between Peterborough and Doncaster permanently to stop these frequent dewirements on that ECML section.
But that wouldn’t have helped last night, when the blockage between Grantham and Newark was caused by a fault on a non-LNER diesel unit…!LNER should go back to diesel operation between Peterborough and Doncaster permanently to stop these frequent dewirements on that ECML section.
I assume 1D81 was the GC 180 that eventually arrived at Sunderland a shade under 3 hours late? Did it carry on in passenger service throughout? But that wouldn’t have helped last night, when the blockage between Grantham and Newark was caused by a fault on a non-LNER diesel unit…!
As a matter of interest, was the considerable delay due to the time taken to assess the dragging brake issue and give permission for 1D81 to proceed to Newark at reduced speed?
I would add that passengers on the immediately affected 1D81 and 1N94 trains were very patient and good-humoured, despite earlier delays getting to Peterborough, and no doubt this was partly because there was still heat, light, functioning toilets and (at least on 1N94) bottled water being made available.
1N94 carried on towards Sunderland after picking up 1D81’s passengers at Newark and dropping them off at Doncaster, although I got off at York.I assume 1D81 was the GC 180 that eventually arrived at Sunderland a shade under 3 hours late? Did it carry on in passenger service throughout?
How are you doing that with a large proportion of the fleet being electric only?LNER should go back to diesel operation between Peterborough and Doncaster permanently to stop these frequent dewirements on that ECML section.
Thank you1N94 carried on towards Sunderland after picking up 1D81’s passengers at Newark and dropping them off at Doncaster, although I got off at York.
As mentioned earlier, 1D81 was shunted into a siding at Newark.
Should we go back to walking too because of all the pot holes?LNER should go back to diesel operation between Peterborough and Doncaster permanently to stop these frequent dewirements on that ECML section.
