Used the new 580/581 KLCH service yesterday. It seems that most buses will run through with just a change of service number at Settle.
The 12:45 from Skipton was well patronised with a good number travelling across Settle.
Nice to have a proper service again. Almost takes me back to the 70s when Pennine ran through to Lancaster!

New Sunday service Lancaster to Skipton

From 3rd May, Kirkby Lonsdale Coach Hire will introduce a Sunday service on routes 580/581 linking Kirkby Lonsdale to Skipton, with one journey extending to start and finish at Lancaster University, serving the Bus Station en-route. At the same time, the company is improving the weekdays 581 timetable between Settle and Skipton with buses running hourly throughout the day. Service 581 was previously operated by Pennine Motor Services, which gave it up (along with its other services) as uneconomic last year,so it is good to see someone else making a success of the route.

From Sunday, 3rd May a bus will leave Lancaster University at 0745 and the Bus Station at 0800 for Ingleton, Settle and Skipton arriving at 1010. Passengers wanting a later start will be able to take Stagecoach service 81A at 1115 from Lancaster bus station and change at Kirkby Lonsdale onto the 1215 bus to Skipton that arrives at 1340.

Return buses from Skipton are at 1415 (change at Kirkby Lonsdale to service 81A and arrive Lancaster 1707) or the through bus at 1745 that arrives at the Bus Station at 1955 and the University at 2010. Connections will be available at Settle, to and from Malham and at Skipton for Grassington and other places.
