Me: about 1.5 miles or so from Lostock Station towards Bolton at the bottom end of Overdale Drive!

If anyone knows the area I don't know whether there were plans to build a station to serve the new middle-class commuting estate "Ladybridge" which could have been on Ladybridge Lane, but Lostock's pretty near so little point.
But I wouldn't mind my own little halt exactly where I said!!

Yours??

Last year, I would have put an additional station in Lincoln, adjacent to the uni (the other side of the two level crossings, in the four track bit). Travelling past the university before having to walk back was always slightly depressing!

So Lincoln St Marks basically. :)

To the OP - is this solely on existing lines, or can we extend/rebuild a line to put our station on?

Extending the Met Line's Chesham branch to my village would suit me.

Watches for team of pigs to fly in to start building.

Last year I would have put a station in 566 meters south of Stoke Station, directly opposite my accommodation. This year, I am happy with Stoke station itself.

I would reinstate the station at wellington in Somerset. Right next to my aunties and with the aerosol factory due to move it would actually be a possibility.
Also I would like the WoE re routed (although I imagine with great difficulty) so that you would only need pen mill station (which unlike junction is easily reached from the town center)

Oh, er, I dunno! Compromise, on lines dug up by Beeching! ;)

Had there been a 1.25 mile branch at Overton running across the Test Valley to my part of the village I'm sure Beeching would have closed it, so that's where I'll have my station. With a triangular junction at the main line so I can conveniently travel east or west in my private train.

I wouldn't move the station, just put in a footpath so I can walk directly out of the back garden, across the field and into the station car-park.

I would keep Burton Road station right where it is but reinstate Blue Pullman services to London on the line.

Bessacarr Lane in Doncaster, reasonably affluent area I suspect with a few commuters too. Seeing as other places nearby (e.g. Bentley & Kirk Sandall) have their own Stations why not Bessacarr and Auckley/Finningley/Airport?

I'd politely open it up to other passengers but it's just selfishly near where I live!

WCML Outbeck Goods loops smack bang on the doorstep of Lancaster University. 1 hourly to London, 1 hourly to Manchester, 1 hourly to Scotland and 1 hourly to the Lakes (Barrow or Windermere, you choose).

Worlds my oyster.

I would put stations at some of the new out of town football grounds where the stadium is right next to the railway but no-one's thought of building a matchday halt. Shrewsbury and Swansea spring to mind but I'm sure there are others.

Being a University of Birmingham student (at the time of posting), I would build a new station to serve the Vale student village (slap-bang in the middle of the line between 5 ways and Uni stations). Loops to let the fast trains pass would be included.

Chard Junction - handy for me - but I don't think that is a selfish desire. Once the line all redoubled, a no-brainer.

Agree with that, although like Yeovil junction it is nowhere near the town centre or in this case the town at all really.

A station by the level crossing on cathole bridge road would be nice for me, a bit closer to my grans (and actually still in Crewkerne) and combined with a re routing of the line to go through pen mill would be perfect for trips between Weymouth and Crewkerne.

Also direct trains Weymouth to Exeter would be good for trips further south.

New "Pluto" orbital line for Manchester, branch Westwards south of Macclesfield, cross the Crewe line at Chelford for interchange, New station at Peover (Knutsford Parkway?), joining the Mid-Cheshire line north of Plumley.

Should solve some of the parking issues where I work by allowing direct access to the network, with obvious options for Northwich, Manchester Airport, Macclesfield and destinations in the general direction of Stockport.

Should also help put First Class cabs's cashcow out to pasture.

If were allowed old lines, i'll reinstate the Lowestoft to Yarmouth line and re-build Lowestoft North Station.

To follow my name .... Ebbw Junction, Newport!

There's a massive housing estate being built nearby, so it would be worthwhile, I think.

The currently disused road bridge between Allington Junction and the Junction north of Grantham station on the Grantham to Nottingham Line.

Would save me a lot of time.

At Asda in Grimsby town centre as was proposed in the 30s. It would be a good double track location nearer to bus links than Grimsby Town and better location than Grimsby Docks station. It was to be called Grimsby Central but the depression stopped development.

Guildford North (or possibly Parkway),

Near Salt Box Road and about half way between Guildford and Worplesden.

Given the town centre and station are at the far southern end of the town a station to the north would be good for all of the people living in the Stoughton, Bellfields and Jacobs Well areas (myself included). It would also be closer to Worplesden than the current station is too.

If permission to build on the green belt was given there could also be a large car park built here reducing vehicle traffic into Guildford and also foot traffic from the bus station to the train station (which is recognized as a problem here due to the very narrow pavement).

About a quarter of a mile from my house on the outskirts of Aylesbury going towards Parkway then I would not have a fifteen minute walk to catch the train.

Nottingham Victoria, and the rest of the GC stations for that matter!

Nottingham Victoria was to be reopened. I have Janes World Railways 1989-90 which is before the Mansfield line reopened. In the book it says the light rail scheme planned for Nottingham would follow the former line from Hucknall all the way into Nottingham's current station and then go underground to the Victoria Shopping Centre. This plan must of changed when the Robin Hood line reopened.

South Wingfield, on the site of the original station. My Mum and one of my sisters live in the village and a stopping service from Derby would be ideal. However in reality it's never going to happen.
