Can't find the fatalities thread on here but this morning a person has unfortunately been struck and killed by a train between Slough and Maidenhead. As always in these tragic events, my thoughts are with the deceased and their family, the driver and crew and any one else affected.

I've just got off 1L34 (0728 Swansea to Paddington), which terminated at Bristol Parkway. Passengers heading on to Swindon and beyond were advised to catch the next service from Parkway (1L38), but that's currently running about 35 minutes late.

Departure boards at Reading aren't looking too healthy at all, luckily South West Trains are accepting tickets towards Waterloo.

The GW has a terrible record for suicide as of late unfortunately. Thoughts and prayers to all involved.

1A05 08.00 Pad to Bristol. Reported that the front power car received 'significant' damage. All now reopened.

The twitter team seem to be trying hard to hold their tempers; a couple of replies have been rather curt to the usual complaints.

Good. Intemperate, self-centred Tweets from passengers should be dealt with curtly.

Thankfully there are also quite a lot of Tweets sympathising with FGW, the victim and the staff involved. so we need not despair too much of humanity.
