I have said this 1 and I will say it again, especaily for Seth. MK2 Brakes are too loud!!!!!!

Well next time you're on the sleeper, I suggest you fork out the extra few quid to travel in a non-Cattle Class Mk3 berth. That way you'll have no reason to complain about the finest coaching stock ever built, the Mk2. ;)
Mark 2s are really good coaches. About 200 are currently rotting away in sidings and MoD sites around the country. The Mark 2A design is quite good, but basically a "plastic Mark 1."

Ex Virgin Mark 2s are extreemly cheap to run, are very basic etc.

Harold: Mark 2 brakes are NOT loud, I don't notice it really :D

Why the brackets for 66s? ;)

On the subject of Mk2s, I must admit I do like some of the Ex-Virgin ones in use with Arriva Trains Wales, with the re-upholstured seats, perfect window/seat alignment and that mega luggage rack in the middle of the coach.

I agree the noise is loud (although I can sleep through it), but also the brake dust is very unpleasant as well in the MK1s and MK2s.

I couldn't agree more with you joy54. Mk2's are good coaches, but I still don't think that it's the best built coaching stock built by B.R. Sorry, but I think Mk3's are better! :D

So it would appear that your issue is with the braking system rather than the coaches themselves?

Surely the technical side of the coaches is counted when you 'review' them? ;) Don't get me wrong, though, I also love Mk2s :D

Put it this way, if they had disc brakes Harold would have nothing to complain about. ;)

Err, there appears to be a slight problem with that list Christopher. The 73T/S doesn't appear to feature in it... ;)

Chris, you appear to be missing the class 442 'Wessex Electric' from your list.
