Mark 2s are really good coaches. About 200 are currently rotting away in sidings and MoD sites around the country. The Mark 2A design is quite good, but basically a "plastic Mark 1."Seth said:HBaileyton135 said:I have said this 1 and I will say it again, especaily for Seth. MK2 Brakes are too loud!!!!!!
Well next time you're on the sleeper, I suggest you fork out the extra few quid to travel in a non-Cattle Class Mk3 berth. That way you'll have no reason to complain about the finest coaching stock ever built, the Mk2.

joy54.gen said:I agree the noise is loud (although I can sleep through it), but also the brake dust is very unpleasant as well in the MK1s and MK2s.
HBaileyton135 said:I couldn't agree more with you joy54. Mk2's are good coaches, but I still don't think that it's the best built coaching stock built by B.R. Sorry, but I think Mk3's are better!
Freightliner also have some Class 66 locos with circular headlights1288gaje said:i like the cl66 with the circular headlights

i like the GBRF 66s
Surely the technical side of the coaches is counted when you 'review' them? Don't get me wrong, though, I also love Mk2sSeth said:So it would appear that your issue is with the braking system rather than the coaches themselves?

I'm sure he could think of somethingSeth said:Coxster said:Surely the technical side of the coaches is counted when you 'review' them?Seth said:So it would appear that your issue is with the braking system rather than the coaches themselves?
Put it this way, if they had disc brakes Harold would have nothing to complain about.
