If I understand it correctly, if you normally buy a one zone 4 week ticket at 75.50, you will now need 4 1 week tickets at 23.00.
4 week tickets aren't on the ticket machines which is why they aren't available.

They are using the existing Almex setup until WCM install their own Ticketer machines onto them, which would then allow for various ticket changes where needed.

If this takeover wasn't so short notice, a lot of stuff would be different on many fronts.

Exactly, so why did WCM agree to it being so short notice if they weren't ready. It wasn't like FMB were insolvent and unable to continue. It was a negotiated arrangement.

It could have been negotiated that First would continue to renew existing 4 week tickets for Borders zones (for a commission) while WCM reviewed their fares.

Some regular commuters are going to have to fork out more for their travel with the new company, and with almost no warning.

Because First wants the border area off its books before the new financial year.

So you keep saying, but WCM did not have to agree, or to implement the change so hastily.

As of now by the way the Borders Buses website (https:bordersbuses.co.uk) takes you to a web-hosting company. Perfect.

AT LAST we can talk about the service changes or the 8th May and the improvements coming.

Some of the changes have already appeared above.
Service Route Proposed Changes
2, 2A, 2B Falkirk – Bonnybridge – Denny - Dunipace
• Service 2A to be extended from Dunipace to Stirling Bus Station and Stirling University (Monday to Saturday).
• Revised timetable.
• 2A/2B frequency unchanged but times altered to provide more even service between Denny and Stirling. Sunday service reduced from every 20 mins to every 30 mins.

3, 4, 4A, 4B Grangemouth –Falkirk –Tamfourhill / Camelon - Banknock - Croy
• Revised timetable. Monday to Saturday
• Service reduced from every 15 mins to every 20 mins (Service 4B to Croy unchanged at every 60 mins)

29, 29A, 29C, F29 Falkirk – Shieldhill - California – Avonbridge - Bathgate
• Most journeys extended from Bathgate to serve Broxburn.
• Service withdrawn from residential streets in western Shieldhill.
• Will now operate via Glen Brae in Shieldhill and will not serve Greenmount Drive, Greencraig Avenue, Parkend Crescent and Paterson Drive (this change is due to narrow roads/tight corners and parked cars)

38, 38A, X38, X9 Stirling - Edinburgh
• Additional peak hour departures (including new Service X9) between Falkirk and Edinburgh.
• Minor timetable revisions to accommodate above.

X39 Stirling – Denny – Glasgow
• Some journeys extended from Stirling Bus Station to Stirling University/Wallace Monument.
• Minor timetable revisions to accommodate above
• Journeys from Glasgow to run 5 minutes later between Whins of Milton and Stirling.

MIDLAND BLUEBIRD LTD
Route: Stirling University, Alexander Court or MacRobert Centre to Cowie Post Office
Service number: 54 (54A)
Service type: Normal Stopping
Effective date: 08 May 2017

* Service revised to every 20mins and all journeys now via Bridge of Allan. overall there is no cuts its just moving everything around. Ie the spare buses from the 54 and 3/4 ( which is only 3-4 buses) have helped increase PVR for the 2, x39 and 38.

So whats missing? West Lothian changes, I've given umpteen clues these were coming, yet people think otherwise or worse: Nope.

Its been reported that the Ex Gala stock is going else where, its makes no since in some respect. Yahoo and FB etc

E300s will go to Larbert for the 38, so who will get the Streetlite?
Volvo/Wright Geminis 37133-6/8-42 are off to Livingston for the 28, WHY? that route has brand new brand stuff paid for by Scottish gov so that no.

Its possible there being used on the 800/801, why you ask would that be more likley?

Service changes are:

20 Withdrawn ( expect one Sunday council journey )
21: now every 20mins
22: minor changes
28: extended to Birniehill.
29: extended to Broxburn.
800/801: Now every 20mins. ( so may more likley to get the spare buses)

There is something missing... .

The Streetlites could end up with Livingston to oust their Solars, which in turn could be cascaded out to other First divisions.

As for the Geminis, their being sent onto the 28 is highly unlikely, especially when taking the barely year-old E400MMCs bought and branded up for it into account. The 800/801 is a far more likely home for them if they are bound for Livingston.

Didn't some suggest not so long ago about rumours of Livingston being sold off had re-ignited?

If any stock was being moved out in favour of 10 year old Gemini's, it could suggest there may be some truth in said rumours??

I think it was one of the First haters that posted it, as it was on one other forum too. They could well need double deckers for rhe other Edinburgh route group that they are making changes to, as has been posted this week, or the 800/1.

Fair enough Volvodart, I know FSE feature quite frequently in selloff rumours.

It does make a freshing change to see FSE improving services through frequency increases & extensions

I concur. With all the gloomy news/sell-offs as of late, it's refreshing to see some good news from F.S.E in the form of service frequency improvements & route extensions.

I keep on forgetting the no20 coming off but thats not included in the overall increase in the PVR for the area. 800/801 will need an extra 3 buses at least.

There's nothing like improving the network, and that's nothing like improving the network.

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/new-west-lothian-bus-routes-10291203

New West Lothian bus routes to be rolled out on May 8
First bus say commuters will see "significant improvements"

BY SEAN O'NEIL
15:59, 25 APR 2017

West Lothian’s main bus operator say commuters will see “significant improvements” to their service as they plan to cover an extra 7000 miles per week.

First Bus will launch a new timetable from Monday, May 8, which includes new links to Edinburgh Airport, Gyle Centre and Edinburgh Park, and more buses on services 21/21A, 38/38A/X38 and 800/801.

The operator will also be covering an extra 7000 miles on services each week and they will have six more buses and 15 additional drivers on the network.

Paul McGowan, First West Lothian managing director, said: “We’ve conducted a detailed review of operations and are pleased to announce exciting new links to key destinations on the network including Edinburgh Airport, Gyle Centre and Edinburgh Park.

“We will also have more buses on a number of our key services including 21/21A services between Broxburn, Uphall and Livingston Centre, the 38/38A/X38 Royal Route between Stirling and Edinburgh and the 800/801 Bathgate-Livingston direct services.”

The operator has also moved to dispel fears that it would no longer serve some areas of West Lothian, such as Deer Park in Livingston, and have applied to the Traffic Commissioner to continue servicing these areas.

A First West Lothian spokesperson said: “Following a further review of our operations and in response to feedback we have received, First West Lothian is proposing to continue to serve Deer Park with an hourly service. We have lodged an application with the Traffic Commissioner which would see Service 21A operating between Deer Park, Livingston, Uphall, Broxburn, Edinburgh Airport, Gyle Centre and Edinburgh Park.

“Low passenger numbers in Deer Park remain a concern but we will keep the situation under review and we are asking local people to support this service and our efforts to make it viable in the long term.”

They added: “Services 20 and X20 in Boghall have also been affected by low passenger numbers, including the loss of passengers to rail services but passengers travelling to and from Edinburgh can continue to use Service 29 from Boghall to Broxburn, and transfer to services 21 and 22 from Broxburn to Edinburgh.

“There is no reduction in frequency to Edinburgh from Uphall and Broxburn.”

So that is what the ex Borders Enviro300s at Livingston are for.

It appears that the rest of the Enviro300s and the remaining 2 57 plate Wright Geminis not mentioned above from Borders are going to Eastern Counties.
