What on earth is that Uefa Nations Cup I heard about on the old wireless earlier today?

As it's intended to replace meaningless friendlies, it gets my vote, although it's going to be a waiting game to see how serious the higher ranked teams take it. For the lower tiers it should be excellent, gives the likes of Malta and San Marino an opportunity to play meaningful games against similar opposition rather than getting battered into submission every time they enter a qualifying competition.

No Leeds fan was consulted over the badge. Some were asked what LUFC meant to them in a survey during August, but I don't know anyone who had been asked their view on the badge, and no one on the Leeds forums seem to have been asked either.

Can't help but think its aimed at attracting foreign fans. Shocking decision to choose that badge, and glad that they're reconsidering it after 50,000 fans signed a petition against it.

It's a poor badge. And yes the consultation was hardly thorough- it didn't even mention the badge, and as one of the 20,000+ season ticket holders- I certainly wasn't asked for my opinion. We have a history of great badges/crests, many of which would be fitting to re-use for our centenary season. Although I don't personally have an issue with the current badge, it is tainted for some due to it's connotations with Ridsdale and the 'fall from grace.' For what it's worth, I'd choose the 'Smiley badge' or the simple 'LUFC' lettering badge as worthy of a reappearance from our back-catalogue.

Recently we've had many positive developments off the pitch, and given our recent string of near-criminal owners I'm glad this is the best we have to complain about. I'm more disappointed that this is the clubs focus with just a week before the transfer window closes...

Edit: 65,000 have signed the online petition against this new badge in under 9 hours :D

Leeds United now say the consultation process on their new badge will be reopened. The best comment i heard on this was one person asking if the 10000 people consulted were all members of the Huddersfield Town supporters club!
My theory is that they did the consultation in Leeds city centre, so most of the responses were noncommittal due to the participants being more bothered about the Rhinos. Should've done the survey in Scandinavia instead...

(Not that we Terriers have much to smile about at the moment of course... at least the travails of our friends down the A62 provide some degree of light relief!)

Hyde United 5...Mossley 1

Hyde have now scored five goals in their last two league matches and in this mid-week rearranged fixture against mid-table Mossley, they were 2-0 up then Mossley scored on the stroke of half-time. However Hyde added three second-half goals to give the scoreline some realism.

It would be nice to see Hyde win all their six rearranged league matches by this margin...

It depends what club you're talking about, really.

Many years ago, I used to collect West Ham programmes, although I never went to their matches. Instead, I used to subscribe to a scheme where they sent me the programme for each home match in the post, and it was timed to arrive the day before or on the day of the match. For a couple of years, I used to get all the away match programmes via the club as well, although these arrived later as they were bought at the ground by a member of the club's staff.

I don't know for certain, but it wouldn't surprise me if some clubs still did this, so if it's a specific club you're after, give them a ring and ask them. Mind you, it will cost you a lot more than the programmes I used to buy, but that's progress ... isn't it?

Try in the club shop on match day, or shortly afterwards. If not, some clubs may have specialist old programme sellers around the ground- I know there are some at LUFC every game.

At least until recently you used to be able to get LFC programs in the club shop in town and even (I think) in some news agents. Possibly you still can. They kind of turned it from a program to a match day magazine though which was about A4 size and was a pain to carry around if you weren't just going to the game and then home, it ended up stuck to a pub table somewhere normally.

yes - there are almost always stalls outside the ground. Worst comes to the worst just ring the club up and ask them to put one aside for you.

PS why not interest in Football? Are you unwell in some way ;)

Some clubs programmes are available on Ebay from programme dealers, or as someone said, ring the club up and ask if they'll send you one through the post. I wouldn't trouble yourself in going to the ground to buy one on a match day, unless you happen to live across the road from the ground.

Some clubs do sell outside the ground, some only once inside the turnstiles. It just depends on the policy of the club. Unsold programmes are sold in the club shop by some clubs too, so that might be an option. Do you require a programme from a specific club or is that not important?

Any Watford FC game. Boss is a massive Watford fan and I’m after a promotion and it would go well towards it.

A nice 3-1 win for us in the FA Cup tonight, thanks to a brace from Atdhe Nuhiu and George Boyd's first goal for the club.

Rather a good result for Wigan Athletic in their 3-0 FA Cup 3rd round replay win against Bournemouth last night.

Over good results for Wigan in FA Cup as they beat West Ham by 2-0. Unlucky to Newport who nearly pull off biggest shock in FA Cup fourth Round ties. I doubt they too upset given they got trip to Wembley for replay on 6th/7th February.

Oldham takeover finally got completed on Friday with former football agent Abdallah Lemsagam's taking full control over Latics. Sadly Oldham didn't give him victory in his first match of been Oldham owners. :(

Oldham 1-2 Plymouth

Leamington 2 v Darlington 3 - DARLO IN MATCH WINNING SHOCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Took the lead through a penalty. Conceded a penalty. 1-1 at half time. Leamington reduced to 10 men, we fell behind, fought back and scored a last minute winner to give Stephen Thompson a hat trick. Even then we tried to chuck away 2 points by almost giving away a goal from a needless free kick at the very death.

Not a great performance but 3 crucial points. Blyth next.

PS Leamingtons ground is in the middle of nowhere. And it rained and i got soaked

South Shields 3...Hyde United 0

Hyde's recent unbeaten league run came to an end today, away to the league leaders who look far too good to be in this league. These six rearranged Hyde league matches that see them play on both Saturdays and on Tuesdays each week until those rearranged matches are completed is beginning to tell on their players.

Awful, awful performance. In fact, I think it was the worst since Jurgen Klopp became manager.

Stockport 2-0 York

What an awful, awful performance. I have lost all faith in Martin Gray.

you bought him - you keep him. ;)

York sit in 6th place, easily in the play offs. You wont win the league, Salford will. Not sure what you expect really. Gray will deliver. You might need to keep letting him buy players and bomb out ones he doesn't fancy. Oh and it is all about him.

( btw you last 5 form is exactly the same as Salford)

Has anyone on this thread ever been to the Albion Rovers FC ground in Cliftonhill, Coatbridge and what are the facilities like there?

Small ground on the top of a hill. Cold. Two stands at either side of the pitch in use, one with seats above a terrace. Small terrace behind one goal. Very old school and a bit run down as with many Scottish lower league clubs. I doubt you will find many executive boxes ;)

£14 adults, £7 concessions. Season tickets £180.

Thanks for that. It was my wife who mentioned a past connection to Tunnocks of "Caramel Wafers" fame to that club that caused me to ask the question. The mention of "cold" seems to bring to mind the Boundary Park ground of Oldham Athletic as another similar ground with the same problem.

I would say colder than Oldham! It is about 6 miles from Tunnucks Uddingston factory to Albion Rovers

LUFC have ditched the new badge and are now canvassing for supporters designs, a selection of which will be put to a vote by the Season Ticket holders and Club Members.

A sensible resolution, so fair play.

It was nice to get a win tonight, the clean sheet and scored penalty kick are welcome bonuses too.

Going forward, my back five would be Karius, Clyne (when he's back), Lovren, van Dijk and Robertson. After Saturday's performance where he conceded five goals, I honestly don't want to see Mignolet in goal for us again. I also think Matip looks off form at the moment, as does Mané.

I'm disappointed we haven't looked at getting an extra forward and midfielder in, but at least we only have two competitions to compete in now...
