I predict our first win will probably come when we kick off our League One campaign next August. 7 games against sides in the top 9 next, we'll be lucky to win this side of Christmas.

We are top of the league, said we are top of the league...
Great 2-0 win in London against a team with triangular corner flags.

Bishops Stortford v Northampton is to be broadcast live on ITV. Cracking choice I must say, I'd prefer that to most of the other options. Not sure how many ITV will show, got a feeling it might be two, and two on BT as well.

Great news, but they seem to stop bothering with the underdogs from round 3 onwards. £5 says if a game is top 5 v top 5 premiers***, ITV will show it. If I wanted to watch that, I'd buy Sky... (Rant over)

According to the FA website ITV will only show the aforementioned game and BT will have 2, and my guess 1 will be the Lincolnshire derby

Oldham are in action against Notts County and is 1-1 half time score, County score first but our very own Rooney score just before half time, hopefully Latics can push for second goal in second half and win this game. :)

I see Scunthorpe are losing 4-0 against York at Half time :o and Leicester are winning 2-1 against Fulham in League Cup.

Full time results: Notts County 3-2 Oldham. :(

County went into 3-1 lead in second half but we scored our second goal with 20 mins to go but couldn't found that third goal we needed.

Man Utd won 4-0 against Norwich in League Cup tonight with Hernandez scoring two goals, Chelsea won big game of night as they beat Arsenal 2-0 and Leicester got shock results of night as they beat Fulham 4-3.

Sunderland / Southampton v Chelsea
Tottenham v West Ham

Stoke v Man Utd game have been confirm to be show on Sky Sports channel sometime in December.

As for FA Cup, Shortwood United v Port Vale will be show live on BT Channel on Monday 11th November, is good tie that for Shortwood who also will receive £67,500 from The FA for just been on TV.

I think 1 of the non league teams will be on TV for the 1st round, especially if they are at home. I have a sneaky feeling that the Grimsby v Scunthorpe match could be a live match, as you have a non league team at home against a league 2 side, with it being a local derby as well.

Well, I was sort of right. Kick off has been brought foward 2 hours, as it has been selected as an overseas live match ....

The problem for Joe Hart is that he initially got over confident, maybe even a bit cocky, and that led to complacency which in turn led to some stupid mistakes and soft goals being conceeded. That's obviously knocked his confidence and now he's at the other end of the scale where he's conceeding stupid goals because of a lack of confidence. A few shrewd people predicted this would happen when he was on top form and they've been proven to be right.

Now he finds that past reputation can count for naught, having been dropped by Manchester City.

Asmir Bergovic may have scored the quickest and longest Premier League goal of the season today. 14 seconds, a clearance from within his area got a bit of wind assistance and goal scored.

Gary Lineker tweeted
"Great to see Mark Hughes change Stoke's style to more of a long-ball game. Tony Pulis' side never scored from that far out!"

Newcastle United 2...Chelsea 0

Looks like Newcastle have got over the shock result against Sunderland.

--- old post above --- --- new post below ---

Whatever have they been adding to the water in the North-West ? After 36minutes, the latest scores are:-

Manchester City 4..Norwich City 0

Fulham 0...Manchester United 3

Sunderland down to 9 men before half time.
The most unsurprising red card going to Lee Cattermole, with Andrea Dossena following moments later.

One more bad result for Norwich next week and Hughton will be gone if he doesn't go this week.

Norwich, Sunderland and Palace at the moment are miles off of the rest of the league for defensive standards.

Just a look at goal difference (as it stands table, 1635 today)

Fulham -5
Stoke -4
Cardiff -5
Norwich -13
Sunderland -15
Palace -14

Hyde must be doing their utmost this season to not win. 1-1 against Nuneaton at home until the 91st min when they go 2-1 up, only to concede again 60 seconds later and finish 2-2.

Of course, as a Rangers fan I know nothing of such. 100% so far and still in 2/3 cups. Sweet.

Fort William have won 3-2 at Keith. Repent your sins everyone, the end of the world is upon us.

At least they have increased their seasons' points by 50%...from 2 to 3.

Perhaps the Fort William result should give them some motivation and show Hyde that miracles do actually happen.

Oldham draw 1-1 to Bristol City today, not bad point to say we lose last six away matches and even come behide to score too.

Stockport won 4-2 to Telford so good win for Stockport.

Shame Nuneaton scored 60 sec after Hyde or that would been very good victory for Tameside club.

Indeed, Fort William are well aware that their jealously guarded title of "Worst middle-grade football team in Britain" is under attack by Hyde

There had now been a new contender for this title, after today's win by Fort William and the draw by Hyde. This is Selkirk from the Lowland League, who now today also entered the realms of miracle results by winning 1-0 at Whitehall Welfare after only gaining 1 point from their first 11 matches....

P11...W0..D1..L10...Goals for 9..Goals against 45...Points 1

^^ What about Tameside club (no not Hyde) but Droylsden who plays in Northern Premier League Premier Division (seven ties of football) Droylsden have played 16 games this season, won 0 draw 2 and lose 14, only score 9 goal and let in 60 goals already this season and even lose 10-0 to AFC Fylde last Saturday. Surely they are now worse then Fort William.

Whatever has happened to "The Bloods". It is only a short time since they had two good runs in the FA Cup, taking Leyton Orient to a second-round replay at Brisbane Road in the 2010/11 season.

Tameside is not a happy place, football-wise, this current season....<(<(<(

Forest loose again for the second weekend in a row, this time to Blackpool at home in the last minute. Looks like it'll be Championship again for another season...

Also, the Chairman gave the Manager a contract extension only a few weeks back. Wondering if he now regrets it!

Not happy!!

Aleast one Tameside club is doing well this season as Stalybridge won 2-1 against Histon today and they are now 9th in Conference North division and only six points behide Altrincham who are 5th in table.

Relax, its better to go through a ropey spell in November than April. It is all about peaking at the right time. I do think Forest will get at least playoffs this season, but if you don't go up this season then next season it has to be promotion or bust.

All our worries on how badly some of our teams are currently faring were brought into some sort of realism last Saturday, as Billingham Town travelled to their Durham Challenge Cup match against Stockton Town with only seven players and no manager and were beaten 14-0.

The full report can be found at http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24803288 I had just read this and came here to mention it and Paul beat me to it!

Oxford's Dave Kitson may have just got himself in hot water with the FA, however if this is true, then I hope the ref is punished and not the player:

Oxford United's Dave Kitson has called the performance of the referee in Saturday's 1-0 loss to Bristol Rovers "horrific" and "horrendous".

Kitson, 33, also called Mark Brown the worst referee he has come across in his 13 years as a professional footballer.

Brown awarded Rovers a penalty as they beat Oxford while winger Alfie Potter also suffered a serious ankle injury in the game.

"He was horrific, horrendous, possibly worst referee I have ever had in my career," Kitson told BBC Radio Oxford.

Striker Kitson, who joined the U's in the summer, added of the challenge on Potter who was eventually carried off on a stretcher: "We have an incident where Alfie Potter is lying on the floor with his leg in a brace and he's asking the referee about the challenge and the referee is swearing at him, telling him to shut up and warning him he will send him off if he doesn't.

"The lad is lying there with tears in his eyes with his leg in a brace and he cannot even talk to the referee."

"He is probably the most arrogant man I have ever come across on the pitch in my life.

"We'd like some decisions from referees. The foul for the penalty was two yards out the box. The referee never communicated with the linesman. I've never seen anything like it in my life, I just don't know why I bother."

In response, the body that represents referees - Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) - declined to comment, adding Kitson's comments were now being investigated by the Football Association
