Should have used a smilie. I knew about the scooter, I was suggesting it should be awarded to Huddersfield. :)

Good idea... It might help preserve Jimmy Vaughan's balsa-wood legs...

MK Dons have been promoted to the Championship, having hammered Yeovil Town while Preston North End slipped up.

Looking forward to the fixtures coming out so I can plan my trip to see AFC Wimbledon while Town are at the industrial estate off the M1...

When Sunderland beat Southampton yesterday, was that the first time two Dutch Managers had faced each other in the Premier League ?

First 20 minutes a bit nervy but as soon as Ollie scored there was only going to be one winner.

We need to finish to job of in 2 weeks times now or else today will count for nothing.

Just booked train tickets for Wembley. Going down Saturday afternoon and coming back on Monday. Got reasonably priced tickets too with 2 singles totalling less than £40.

Refereeing standards are generally getting worse. We always wanted more consistency and now we've got it: they're all consistently awful.

Newcastle will get relegated, there's no way they'll stay up now. And it will be hilarious. Definitely need to be careful what you wish for.

Shame I didn't bet on it earlier; odds have shortened to 5/1.

I very much agree on both counts, and John Carver accusing Mike Williamson of deliberately getting himself sense off...................it just couldn't happen at any other club:D

Oldham 1-1 Peterborough

Fair results to be honest but we seen to switch off when Peterborough when down to 10 men and we were current 1-0 up.

Well done to MK Dons who will be playing in Championship next season after they beat Yeovil 5-1 and Preston lost 1-0 to Colchester, that win for Colchester mean they are staying in League One and Crawley, Leyton Orient and Notts County (along with Yeovil) have all been relegation to League Two.

Chelsea 1-0 Crystal Palace

That win for Chelsea mean they are crowd Premiership champions and they deserve it given they been top of division since day one.

Thanks and we're second highest goal scorers.....................not bad for a team that is allegedly 'boring';)

Just a quick Darlo update: We beat Bamber Bridge 2-0 on Saturday to secure promotion to the Evo Stick Premier League via the play offs.

This was out first play off success after 5 goes and sees us make another step on the long road home. Bamber should have lead at half time but we started the second half much brighter and roared into a two goal lead.

I didnt even get close to a ticket so was listening on the radio and it was torture. Shame the plastics snapped up the tickets...........

Sadly the MK Dogs also got themseves promoted so thier turncoat fans will be partying like they did when Manchester Unted won the league in 1996

I can see where Carver is coming from there, the ball was out of play, and Vardy had crossed the line as well, so why did Williamson feel he had to take him out?

Congratulations on attaining yet another promotion. Will you be in the same league as Hyde next season (after our two successive relegations) ?

Yeah, I was obviously delighted yesterday but that news left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.

I can understand the young fans they have but who did all these grown men (and women) support before they existed. Did they not support anyone? Surely they must have been fans of one team or another and no self-respecting football fan would ever change their team.

Never forgive, never forget.

They arent football fans though are they? They are plastics. Real fans choose a team and stick with that team through thin and thinner. You dont change.

Hence my point of visiting Kingsmeadow/The Cherry Red Records Stadium next season, rather than Stadium:MK.

I don't begrudge the people of Milton Keynes a team to support, but they should've started at the bottom of the pyramid, like AFC Wimbledon had to.

Whoever they supported before Franchise FC was parachuted into the land of the concrete cows, they didn't all go to watch Milton Keynes City of the South Midlands League, who I believe never had an attendance of more than 250.

I've always supported Liverpool, but also follow my most local teams keeping an eye out for their scores. If a league 2 team with a big stadium appeared in my town, if the ticket price was right i would go and watch them.
I was staying in Northampton a couple of years ago so went to watch Northampton town play. More recently I went to watch Torquay whilst staying in Torquay. I have no interest in Torquay or Northampton, but I enjoyed the atmosphere, clapping and such.

Arsenal doing us a massive favour as long as Hull don't make a comeback

Have no fear, Hull only pulled one goal back, so Arsenal won 3-1.

Just cast your mind back a few years ago, when all the talk was of winding-up petitions there, so it is really good news now.

So John Carver had a bad weekend as we know, Newcastle then came out to say he would be backed until the end of the season.

But.......it now turns out that on Saturday, they offered Steve McClaren the job for the final three games of the season...

Newcastle, the club that cannot help but keep on giving.

It was pointed out in the Metro today that all the top seven leagues in English football were won by teams starting with 'B'.

Starting with the lowest
Conference South - Bromley
Conference North - Barrow
Conference Premier - Barnet
League 2 - Burton Albion
League 1 - Bristol City
Championship - Bournemouth
Premiership - Boring Boring Chelsea

There seems to be an error somewhere in that it is actually the top six leagues, due to both the Conference North and Conference South being exactly the same level of the pyramid system.

I know. The winding up petition was because the former owner loaned the club big sums and then got himself declared bankrupt. The bankruptcy called in all the loans he made to the club.

The new owners are both much more reputable business men. They have a young manager. Had they started the season well they would have easily won the league. They lost 8 of I believe their first 12 games, then only lost 4 more all season. They had a new manager, and a number of new players.... and a big name striker, none other than Barry Hayles.

Only came out after Derby/Steve McLaren publicised he'd rejected the post.
McLaren has stated he would rather stay at Derby!

Since the list submitted incorporates both the Conference South and Conference North leagues to which you note the away scoring record of Chelsea...."No other team has scored more goals away from home"....it is indeed fortunate that the Highland League (certainly comparative to both Conference South and Conference North) was not included, then the record of Brora Rangers would have to be used in comparison....
P34...W30..D4..L0....F 134..A 13...Pts 94...(Not many teams have a goal difference of 121)......They too have a name beginning with "B".

Fair results to be honest but we seem to switch off when Peterborough were down to 10 men and we were then currently 1-0 up.

Well, that result showed a final league position of 15th from 24 and there is yet another season to look forward to in League 1.

What do you think of the managerial appointment of 35 year old Northern Irish Darren Kelly, who was on the coaching books of Sunderland, that takes effect from 1st June, with Dean Holden staying as his deputy.

19 years it be next season that Oldham will be playing League one football (or third division)

As for new manager I'm not sure just yet as I'm prefer someone who already been manager and I wouldn't mind Dowie to become our new manager but I hope Kelly do well for us and hopefully get us out of League One or challenge the play offs next season just like Johnson do for us before leaving for Barnsley midway through the season.

Bayern Munich must have thought that with the game being still goal-less well into the second half of their first-leg Champions League semi-final against Barcelona last night, that they would have the chance to progress onwards after the return leg....then Messi decided to add to his already large goal tally in all matches this season.

No team looks forward to taking a three-goal defecit into the second leg of any match, though such matters are not unheard of being overturned.
