I was at Stamford Bridge last night, yes through to the Conference League quarters but another poor performance against a team that are not great but gave it a go & their passing moving forward was very good.

Said it before with the exception of a few players every game the desire & passion from certain individuals is a disgrace.

And I can imagine the ticket prices are not exactly bargain basement.

It also shows the contempt they have for the fans who work hard enough to support their team.

If it’s any consolation, I don’t think it’s just Chelsea.

Sutton United 0-3 FC Halifax Town

Another comfortable away win, and we’re now the second highest points scorers after Barnet over the last 20 games.

And another goal inside the first minute - that’s two this season, plus goals in the 2nd and 3rd minutes away at York. Fast starts are becoming a speciality

And to make matters worse Peterborough’s goalie went off injured after 52 minutes and without a sub keeper an outfield player went in nets for the rest of the game

all tocs departing Kgx after 1930 will be alcohol free.

No celebrating or drowning your sorrows then.

I don't drink myself but feel for those that do and behave themselves.

I learned very quickly at school that if you keep your head down and behave, they'll still try to punish you.

Well done Barcodes.

But in other news another passive performance by the lot from Fulham Broadway, not that the Goons were great but didn’t have to be.

Seems to be a little bit of club envy there :)

I hardly think that one defeat (albeit an important one) hardly merits ‘the wheels have fallen off’ :)
What about now then?
Beaten fairly and squarely by Newcastle.
Yes they've won the league all be it against not a lot of competition, knocked out of the F.A.Cup in the 3rd round by a team that was bottom of the Championship, didn't reach the quarter finals of the Champions League.
By their very high standards i'd say it hasn't been a very good season.

Well my partner is in full “well it’s the league cup it’s not a real trophy” mode, as you’d expect from a Sunderland fan.

But she does grudgingly accept the Mags did a job on Liverpool, especially that Livramento who was surprisingly mobile considering he had the Egyptian fraud Salah in his back pocket

To be twelve points clear in the Premier League with nine games to go I’d consider it a pretty good season, and one that every other club in the land would certainly swop for their own.

Let’s be honest here, you just don’t like Liverpool, and that’s fine. However I’m sure you’d willingly swop your club’s successes & failures with Liverpool’s successes & failures.

Note: As a Stoke City supporter, success is a word we don’t understand :frown:

And we didn't even work him. A young kid in a borrowed keepers shirt and his clean sheet bonus was never in doubt
Hope Chelsea, Newcastle and Rangers all win today.
The three worst football clubs in the UK!

The league is Liverpool's bread and butter. Winning the EFL Cup is not a mark of a good season for a club of Liverpool's stature and most Liverpool fans would find it risible that winning the Premier League in any scenario constitutes a bad season.

Re: going out earlier in the CL and FA Cup - there's first place and then there's no place. Being beaten finalists in the CL Final might have been the mark of a good season for perennial bedwetters like Spurs but a club of Liverpool's heritage wouldn't place much stock on being beaten at any stage in the competition, because if you lose at any of the knockout stages it means you don't come home with the trophy. We already have six European Cups, getting to the semis or the final is hardly a novelty.

The last time Newcastle won a trophy, the 1955 FA Cup, Jimmy Scoular was captain. He later went on to become Bradford's player manager and even got us promoted to D3. Signing him was considered a great coup as he was no 1 on A&BC chewing gum cards. We're now in a parks league and could even be playing humiliating local derbies against Albion Sports or Thackley next season. How times change.

Bradford actually beat Newcastle 2-0 at St James Park in the 1948/49 FA Cup 3rd round. Next season we'll probably be starting in the Extra preliminary round and be out before the NPL-1E league season even begins.

Bread and butter, are you having a laugh? This will be the second time they've won the league since 1990, during which time Man Utd have won it 13 times. Man City 8, Chelsea 5 & Arsenal 3.

Tedious take. Football didn’t start in 1990. “Bread and butter” is a Shanklyism coined after winning the League in 1973, and reflects the club’s and supporters’ ideals that the domestic league is the prime competition.

That other fans try to diminish Liverpool’s winning the league only underscores what a huge club Liverpool are. It feels patronising as a Liverpool fan to say you’re happy for Newcastle fans, even if it’s sincerely meant (it is!) - “they won a secondary competition on their big day out.”

I’ll take the league over Europe or any of the domestic cups any day. Winning it is the hallmark of a successful season. Anything else is a bonus.

So you're saying that 2 league titles in the last 35 years is better than the 2 European Cups they've won in the same time frame?
It’s great to be able to be asked a question like that by a fan who can’t parse the level of success Liverpool FC have historically enjoyed, is all I can say. Winning the league is a good season from our perspective.

“they won a secondary competition on their big day out.”

Oxford United won that 'secondary competition' in 1986 - And I was there! One of the greatest days in my life, and certainly the club's greatest ever achievement, given that we are unlikely to win the League. We perhaps shouldn't go into why our success then was not rewarded with our one and only chance to play in Europe....

Similarly Luton Town in 1988.

Don't worry I'm sure had Liverpool won the League Cup on Sunday it wouldn't be a "Secondary Competition" in some of their fans eyes.

Like the FA Cup when they got humbled by the team bottom of the Championship, the FA Cup this year is merely a "Secondary competition", like the Champion's League ;)

But don't worry, they won the league many times in the pages of history and that is all that counts in their eyes.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
North West Counties Football League...Premier Division

Colne 1 ... Lower Breck 3

A Tuesday match saw Lower Breck continue their run of wins and close on the heels of Bury in the battle for the top spot at the end of the season. Now on level games played, but Bury still have a three point advantage and a better goal difference. Lower Breck's record now reads....Played 41...Won 28..Drawn 7.. Lost 6...Goals for 105..Goals against 45..(PP Points 102 expected at the end of the season's fixtures)
