does anyone know what day the most freight passes doncaster station a week day or saturday as i am planning to visit soon. It would also be useful to know the times of day when the most passes. many thanks if you can help

Weekdays will be best and freight passes throughout the day.

you don't need times, turn up and you're guaranteed freight. Only difference on weekends are engineers and convoys...

I agree, any normal weekday will see plenty of freight
Unlike the WCML it doesn't suffer a day/night phase and you should see at least four freight trains in any one hour period

It would also be useful to know the times of day when the most passes.

As others have said, there is freight to be seen throughout the day,
but the busiest two periods are:

a) 12:30 to 15:00

b) 18:30 to 22:00

Not only are those two periods good for sheer quantity, but they also
see feature several different types of train (intermodal, sand, stone,
concrete blocks, binliner, steel, etc, whereas at other times of day, you are
only likely to see coal workings and the odd intermodal...
