Cheers for that James. It appears that nobody on here has heard any news for the march intake, so hopefully they are using people out of the talent pool that were unsuccessful for the January start. You would have thought by coincidence that at least one person on here would have found out by now if they were going to start in march. All depends on the size of the pool I suppose.

They may have only sorted out the allocations, so because of xmas, it maybe the new year before the people who have got in March intake find out

Hi James

Hope you are enjoying it - you lucky bugger :)

Are you able to find out when March people will be told? And if there will be anymore intakes?

All the best for xmas & new year fella

Nope I can't find that out there supposedly one in October but don't know if that's 100%

All I remember is that I got a call a week before my interview and it took from November to feb for me t find out its a SLOW process

When did you start your training? As didn't realise people already started this year (except sept intake). The application process didn't start until May.

Regards
Darryl

I started in April and love it best job I've ever had

so so jealous mate. I am just praying that I get a letter/call/e-mail saying I have been successful for the March intake.

It would feel like all my birthdays and Christmas's have come at once. Especially if I find out early Feb as it's my birthday on the 9th Feb

James do you work for heavy haul or intermodel?
what depot you based at? cheers

James is a grad for intermodal as am I. I too am absolutely loving it!

Don't be disheartened by no news as its a very slow process!

I do believe that intermodal will be advertising in 2015 for more grads, if HH don't set on anymore courses.

It's strange that I haven't heard anything about this since the interview, no rejection, no acceptance, no medical or anything.

I actually don't mind too much if it's about waiting because I've a lot on my plate but I think more than likely I've just not received the rejection letter which is a bit of a shame haha. That's my realisric train of thought though I do quite enjoy indulging in the thought of possibly still being in the process somewhere

With the January intake commencing today, maybe things might start moving for the next intake? Fingers crossed!

March course is all full now, and as for travel asfel is ment to be having talking to Freightliner to try get us currently there the travel perks.

Unless you started pre 1996, you will not be entitled to free travel. Freightliner are not members of ATOC, the same as any other FOC....ATOC will not give any new starters free travel.

The reason is, is that freight can't offer a service to others that are members of a TOC, even though we are part and parcel of the railway.

Myself, I have to pay 20% tax of around £600 to keep my priv passes, which I feel is unfair. We do continue to fight your cases, but ATOC are a law to themselves...so the chances you guys getting free travel will be a big fat 0 !!!

And James, I like your comment..The best job ever...lol...I've done 30 years driving freight trains, and will be glad to leave it to you guys !!.

Intermodal is the better side to work for, we have more structured rosters like passenger drivers.

Also at Intermodal we have hardly no Saturdays or few if any Sundays, more sociable sign on times and step on step off jobs. . HH have no start times (pending location), just AM's, PM's and nights, unless you have WTT stuff on a regular basis...Good luck though.

I did read about loss of drivers if you lose a contract...I maybe be wrong here, but I have never heard anything like that within Freightliner, they are one of the better companies to work for. The only company I have heard of losing drivers were DRS, but these people are not to be compared to Freightliner and unfortunately DBS. The reason DBS lost contracts and I hate saying this, was because they became unreliable and trains got stranded everywhere. I would think your job will be quite safe and please don't listen to gossip

Hi guys happy new year and all that. I'm guessing no one on here has heard anything about there being a March intake yet??
I really can't see myself being included in any possible course for march. It would be a tight squeeze as I'd have to have a medical and give a months notice! Still hopeful though, forever the optimist

Have you not heard anything since interview Mez?

I think given the date and all that all the places will be full, especially given whats been said above but I hope you hear something if you haven't yet.

Sorry I was placed into a talent pool for any possible future intakes. March was mentioned in my interview as being a possibility

Ah that clears that up!

I'm in a position where I simply heard nothing, which for me is virtually case closed but I did wonder if there were a few people in the same boat. Clearly not ;)

Like I say, hope you hear of something soon though, you got some positive news so in that case it's worth staying positive :)

I still can't see how the process could be on-going, i'll be honest but you never know!

I'm in the same boat, I was one of the first to be interviewed way back when and was subsequently told that if I hadn't heard anything then it was good news as I was still in the mix. I contacted Laura by email in November and didn't even get the courtesy of a response (now I know they're busy but after keeping people hanging on for over six months you would think sparing 30 seconds to respond to an email would not be too much to ask!!!).

Can anyone confirm or know if there is going to be a March intake for Freightliner Heavy Haul? If there is have the spots already been filled? If there isn't does anyone know why?? I know this is a waiting game, I'd just like to plan my year, feel like I'm constantly oncall and waiting for a letter to say you have a medical. I don't want to book anything or be unavailable should I be lucky enough to get through for a spot.
Hope someone has the answer

Has anyone been able to get onto freightliners website recently? I've not been able to access it for a couple of weeks from any PC or device.

Looking at choo13's previous comments he hasnt been in the same process as the rest of us
He had a interview first before any tests like we did up in crewe so i would imagine this is for Intermodal, my talent pool letter said about possible march and further intakes so i wouldnt give up hope guys, there not going to do this recruit drive again when they have people like us in this pool who have passed the tests and done well at interview stage but were not in the top 20 odd candidates

Hi everyone

I was called today and invited for a medical on 2nd Feb, I'm hoping this is progression to the next stage and not just into a talent pool.....

regards,
Darryl

I would doubt they'd send you for a medical n then sit u in a pool. Sounds like you'll have a place on the March intake. Well done mate. I start with another TOC soon. All turned out good in the end. Again, well done
