Apologies if this too obscure - the photo was taken 21 years ago and I've no idea what the location is like now. This little sort of dell was off the station platform which can be made out at the bottom of the picture.

I used to travel through the station fairly regularly at around that time, but the services I travelled on now take a different route.

I'll assume we are in Wales with your username and say... Abercynon? (Forget whether it is North or South)

Neither Abercynon nor Quakers Yard.

Don't be fooled by my name - I've travelled a good deal of England and Wales (also part of Scotland) in my time.

I don't think that it's in Wales - I think that it's Brookwood, and the photo has been taken from the cemetery.

Open floor if I'm right.

I'm sure I have seen that, it reminds of somewhere like Heald Green.

I do not know the station. Can Merthyr Imp please confirm if these clues are right..

The window in the background is painted in Great Western Railway colours.
The edging bricks on the steps appear to be those used by the GWR.

Somewhere in London zones in the former GN/TL area :P.
The cables on the wall give it away as a third rail station, and it's clearly somewhat elevated, so I'm going to say Loughborough Junction.

I do not know the station...

.. from the style of the spandrels I suggest that it is a former London , Brighton & South Coast Railway station. I attach a photograph of Eridge showing the style of spandrels/roof supports.
