Having thought abut it, it would be a bit weird for me next time I go to the NRM and see 43002 there; I've seen many a time on my local line and seeing it as far away from Oxford would be odd.So long as the NRM get a power car and it's put in the museum at York for normal's to hopefully gaze at in amazement.

Seeing it as far away as Hereford is odd!
Anyone know if 002 and 185 will be working today? They were at Long Rock depot yesterday for the open day.
43002 used to pop up at Newcastle, York, Leeds, Sheffield, Derby, Manchester, Stoke, Stafford, Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street back in the mid 1980's under BR, when Cross-Country services used to regularly dip into WR power cars to run its services. I remember having it for haulage back in 1988 on the 17:08 York-Plymouth XC HST service...its a well travelled machine.Seeing it as far away as Hereford is odd!
A bit like 43207 and if i'm right in saying when new it was a WR power car?43002 used to pop up at Newcastle, York, Leeds, Sheffield, Derby, Manchester, Stoke, Stafford, Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street back in the mid 1980's under BR, when Cross-Country services used to regularly dip into WR power cars to run its services. Oh! That's quite interesting. So maybe it wouldn't be so odd for it to spend the rest of its days (potentially) in the NRM.43002 used to pop up at Newcastle, York, Leeds, Sheffield, Derby, Manchester, Stoke, Stafford, Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street back in the mid 1980's under BR, when Cross-Country services used to regularly dip into WR power cars to run its services. Indeed 43007 was part of original WR set 253003, but was with Virgin XC from the late 90's and when Arriva took over, 43007 was retained after modfications and renumbered 43207 as were other original WR allocated power cars such as 43166/43178/43184 (when built, ironically, these power cars were originally dedicated XC power cars under BR) and 35 years+ on, they are now once again dedicated XC power cars as 43366/43378/43384.A bit like 43207 and if i'm right in saying when new it was a WR power car?
Not exactly. 43007 was technically a Virgin West Coast power car (though the power cars were pooled) and was off-leased in 2003 and transferred to Midland Mainline (with 43104/166/178/184 at the same time). At the end of the MML franchise in 2007 it was transferred to XC, not being needed by the EMT franchise.Indeed 43007 was part of original WR set 253003, but was with Virgin XC from the late 90's and when Arriva took over, 43007 was retained after modfications
I might be thinking wrong on this but as you say the franchised changed but when the four 222/1's came from Hull didn't they replace the power cars that went to XC such as 43104/166/178/184.Not exactly. 43007 was technically a Virgin West Coast power car (though the power cars were pooled) and was off-leased in 2003 and transferred to Midland Mainline (with 43104/166/178/184 at the same time). Thanks...I certainly was aware of their stint on MML, I was trying to keep it short and to the point. 43007 in the end may have been WCML pool, but it used to haul me around quite a bit in the late 90's, mainly on XC services, one such trip was 12:19 Bournemouth-Edinburgh via ECML with 43088 (between New Street and Edinburgh) - it used to pop up regular on the Newcastle-Swansea as well. Not exactly. 43007 was technically a Virgin West Coast power car (though the power cars were pooled) and was off-leased in 2003 and transferred to Midland Mainline (with 43104/166/178/184 at the same time).
