Interesting that they run with the 3 headcode class which is noramlly for parcels. Is there any reason for this?

Class 3 denotes a priority ECS service.
I'm assuming in this case that class 3 is used for identification in the same way class 9 is used for Thameslink? Otherwise it looks like the diagram spends all day on ECS from the diagrams @dave87016 posted.

Nope, a class 3 is as Strimmer has posted. Presumably this is Driver training or something similar but yes its ECS all day.

Anyone know which service the last Class 43 to Paddington from Penzance tomorrow is? Unless today is the last (it is supposed to be the 18th)

A post on Instagram shows that 43002 was in Laira on the 16th if that helps.

Hasn’t been just “normally for parcels” for many years. Also includes some freight, some RHTTs, and some high priority ECS.

Turns out 6:50 (1A78) was the last HST out of Penzance. It was comprised of 43093 & 43188.

End of an era, even though the Castle set will still run from Penzance to Exeter.

Apparently 43002 has managed to come back to life on the return journey from Swansea but still losing a few minutes. Will make it quite interesting to see what happens with the last train at 1830.
GWRs finest travelling fitter had it restarted at Bridgend for run to Swansea. Has been on 2 power cars so far - currently looking good between Swindon and Reading. Batteries on 43002 NOT charging. I understand driver was warned there is a risk they could go flat..but not sure of consequences..... Driver instructed to connect 43002 to shore supply at Paddington.
