Will 604 be back from Derby by then ?

43096 mentioned in another thread that it was finished and was dragging 41001 and 47828 from The GCR(N) to Old Oak (and also dropping 37003 off at Leicester), so all looking good.

The million dollar line up question is... what's on the down Sleeper tonight?

If it's 57 310, then they've achieved the plan of having all four 57/6s lined up tomorrow. If it's a /6, then presumably 57 310 will be in the line up instead of a full house of /6s?

All I can confirm is last night's up was 605, and 602 on the down. As I went on both!

Snippets of info here and there, i.e. other Forums, Groups that 57310 worked 1C99. Don't think they can all be wrong.

May have been entrusted - special occasion et all but as I say, I'm off at moment so can't confirm. Normally, DRS locos are now only used as a last result due to mishaps previously. Different maintainance regime.

Or just possibly the fact that they need the loco with the Dellner coupler at the London end for the 387 moves.

My stepbrother sent me a photo earlier taken from Exmouth across the river to Starcross of what looks like a DRS liveried 57 on three mk3s. The photo is very poor quality and I can't really work it out. He sent it to me at 14:28, here it is. Is it 57310 on the summer Saturday service?

Well, 57 602 was indeed at Old Oak Common today.

All four were, and 57 310 was nowhere to be seen... and as stated above was on the short set in Devon today.

Presumably they effected a swap somewhere en route?

No. 57310 worked the down sleeper last night (Friday) and 57602 worked the up sleeper, then on to Old Oak as booked.

OK so I'm off work at moment so can't confirm but looks like all 4 GWR 57s at OC111 and DRS 57310 entrusted with down Fri night NR and sat VegEx and Sun up with issues. Point proven but will confirm Monday when back in and in control....!!
Previous depot management would say things would always go wrong when I'm off.... !!!
Also, was it possible to get a shot of all our 57s in 1 frame or was 4 in the bogie lift shop thus making whole point of getting who!e fleet in one photo pointless......:)

Nope, couldn't get the fleet in 1.

602 was doing "look above" photos
603 was one/two roads away off it's bogies
Then outside....

605 was parked behind/in front of 604

No, two (604 & 605) were stabled outside (in front of the wheel lathe iirc) and two were in the HMF. 602 was under the walkway, with its roof hatches open and 603 on the jacks with a bogie removed.

Last nights up died near Taunton. It limped into Taunton 300 late and is now blocking platform 4.

Lots of issues with the up working last night even before it for out of Cornwall. Brake related issues and later fuel supply problems on 57605 as I understand it.

Due to 1A40 with 57605 already being in trouble, 57604 the ECS Loco went down on rear of 1C99 to detach at Exeter and assist 1A40 already getting on for 2 hours late.
57604 obviously not very successful and failed completely between Tiverton Jn and Taunton. 59100 detached from freight at Taunton and sent wrong road to assist to Taunton where train terminated. 5A40 09+40 Taunton to Old Oak Common arranged worked by 504 and 605. Was blocking Platform 4 at Taunton with trains queueing for Platform 5 and the first Up HST, 1A73, ran via the Mule.
