I think the apt seats were called ic80 and I think they were fitted in the mk3b as built
Correct, also fitted to the Mk 4 First Class vehicles when built. However, Standard Class in the Mk 4s got a different style of seat. The APT Standard Class seat (not sure if also classed as IC80?) was retrofitted to the Mk 2D and 2F FO to TSO conversions (62xx and 68xx series respectively) as well as by Network South East to some Mk 2 TSOs refurbished for use on the Liverpool Street - Cambridge - King's Lynn services.

Does that mean the sets are now swapped (what was the UP set on a Mon, is now the DOWN set on a Mon)? or do they swap them back somehow?

I believe it was cancelled 2 nights so they’ll be back on the same diagram?

The PZ88/9 set numbers are really just for paperwork due to the common user nature of the individual coaches. Last year, 88 spent most time doing the up Sunday but since the Christmas break its been 89. No service since wed arrivals. Currently its 89 at PZ with 605. 604 on depot spare.

I thought as much, but didn't know if there was anything else at play that needs it in a certain place at any time.

OK very random question here, sorry..

How many drivers are required to do the entire journey on the night riviera - up or down? Do they swap half way or something (from the up service to the down service and vice versa) so they end up back at "home" or....?

Same for customer hosts I guess but I thought they stayed all they way so do they spend 3 days a week in a hotel at the other end of the county?

Random Saturday night thinking ends :)

Drivers and TMs are Exeter based doing half a trip. Hosts are PZ and Pad based doing whole trip with hotels with.possibly a trip back on the cushions but unsure of rosters.

Last nights up working failed completely at Totnes with a brake fault and was terminated at Newton Abbot 170 minutes late.

What happens to the punters in such circumstances?
Usually they get turfed out of bed and decanted onto an hst, though I don't see any STP at Newton this morn so unless there was a special laid on that wasn't entered into the system (although not sure they'd have the staff/stock for that?), I assume they had to wait for the first Plymouth up at half 5? It did spend about 4mins there this morn so could be.

I was under the impression it went ECS Newton Abbot to Reading this morning, can't be sure though.

605 failed at Pad so the ecs loco was used and 605 taken off at Reading. Right time by PZ.
603 was a seal in a brake valve. Currently unsure of the problems with 605.

57605 hauled 1C99 as far as Reading then dropped into the TCD. 57306 ran round in the Station and carried on to the West.
57605 was repaired in time to drop onto the back of 1A40 and become the pilot engine.

Also, all bedding incl pillows and quilts due to be replaced around late April due to new fire regs.

We may be having snow Sunday.....! Unsure of how much stock is at Reading and at the very least, soap will be put out and toothbrush/paste still available from buffet. It is rumoured that there is still stock at the manufacturer to be used and delivered. Been trying to clarify for a week.
