In reply to D1009, looking at RTT, the 04.45 Bristol-Padd, arrive 06.19 Plat 4, came off Stoke Gifford IET Depot, which then formed from Plat 4 1C04 07.30 to Penzance.

I saw some 802s on a Swansea service, so I think they are covering for a lack of 800s atm

Should have clarified my earlier post, according to an email forwarded to me by a SW Rail Gen subscriber 1C04 was 800017/029 to Bristol TM where there was a set swop to 43071/OC53/43024.

When is the next diagram change for the 802’s to Cornwall etc? I’m looking to do London-Penzance rtn diagram on the 4th Sept, will it only still be the 07.30 out and 14.00 back which is IET?

Booked 10 coach 802 on Saturdays:

1C81 1203 London Paddington - Penzance
1A35 1730 Penzance - London Paddington via Bristol TM

Also 1C81 is formed off 1A77 0750 Plymouth - London Paddington, but I wasn't aware of this being booked an 802 or not?

Where are you getting this info from?
The 0750 is formed from Laira so is unlikely to be an IET, unless they stable there?

If anyone is interested, the second lot of weekday 800 diagrams on the Golden Valley lines from 03/09/18:

UP DIRECTION

1L10 0528 Worcester SH - Paddington
1L36 0831 Cheltenham - Paddington
1L58 1236 Cheltenham - Paddington

DOWN DIRECTION
1G02 0640 Swindon - Cheltenham
1G21 0936 Paddington - Cheltenham
1G60 1742 Paddington - Cheltenham*

Then after that, on 01/10, all of the HSS to Cheltenham are booked IET. They were one of the last on but one of the first to be fully IET booked. Also diagram changes for other 800/802 services on 01/10. Platform Extensions for North Cotswolds in November, and Stonehouse extensions are nearly finished. This will allow the operation of 10 car units on these routes, and Stonehouse to have all doors open on the turbo fleet.

*This was an IET from June until last week, although it returned to the 1722 to Hereford as the issue with platform signals have been resolved.

Not quite.

03/09/18 alterations deferred to 15/10/18 and 01/10/18 alterations deferred to 19/11/18, both dates put back because of late unit deliveries. 10 car operation on the Cheltenhams will still be a problem because of the Gloucester platforming issue.

Has there been any change to when hst sets are going off lease to cover for the late IET deliveries? I believe the intention was for three sets to finish both this month and next. Thank you.

Interesting, I thought the intention was that all IET workings to Plymouth and Penzance would be 802s.

Meanwhile the 1633 Paddington to Exeter has just arrived with a pair of 800s of which the rear set was 800026.

Never knew that, and forgot about Gloucester. I am under the impression it is only platform two or is it platform one and two?

No - that week in September is the start of an "LTP block" period so I suspect somebody has uploaded the LTP block without doing the STP diagram alterations to bring the plan back (or forward) to the correct dates for introduction.

That Penzance service should cut over on 24/09/18, when the next set of West of England cl.802 diagrams are introduced. It is only the cl.800 GWML 03/09/18 diagrams that have gone back to 15/10/18.

9 car can use 2, 4
10 car can use 4 only.
Ah, that is a problem. It would mean it could not collide with services coming from Wales and changing platforms with Great Malvern services. I never realised about Platform 1 and 9 cars but thinking it’s only ever used 2 and 4 for me.
