You're right, my mistake. There is a big possession from the end of October to 18th November but details seem difficult to find at the moment
All I know there is Filton re-quadrupling works for 3 weeks when the vast majority of the remodelling the track.

The diversionary routes are Swindon-Golden Valley-Gloucester-Newport, or Swindon-Bath=Rhubarb Curve-Doctor Days Junction-Filton-Newport, think its mainly non stop over both diversionary routes.
-

So if the train is shown non stop it's probably going Kemble way then, would I be right in guessing the Swanseas will go one way and the Cardiffs the other, I just want to get the diversionary routes covered by 800's so I can forget it then lol

All will go via Filton and Bath.

I am surprised that there is enough line capacity for this to happen?

GW publicity is suggesting high speed services will call at Patchway rather than Bristol Parkway, suggesting Filton bank will not be affected.

I mean a separate Filton Bank works at the end of October lasting for 3 weeks.

16th, subject to change as driver issues could appear.

Diagrams:
0553 Plymouth-London

0730 London-Penzance, 1400 return

1633 London-Exeter SD, 1955 return

2003 London-Plymouth

Seems like this is the confirmed plan from August 20th.

Monday, 20th August

1C04 0730 London Paddington - Penzance (via Bristol TM)
1A83 1400 Penzance to London Paddington

Also staff and RTT confirms:
1A72 0553 Plymouth - London Paddington

I understand the 0553 is a ten car, not sure about the other two.

Every day this week they have been out on testing, down towards Penzance and around the Bristol area. They are more ready for introduction than the 800s were in October.

These are 802s I assume? Is the 20th EIS day for them?

Unless something has changed, both duties should be 2x5 formations.

Cheers. So I'll be going back on the 13.08 as far as WSB.
88 thro Wellington fell to 78 into tnl and at Whiteball. Couple mph down on last week's 800/3 apparently. Engine under composite intermittent?

GWR journey check showing both 08.35 and 10.35 PAD PGN cancelled. Former was a five car IET last week, latter (and the 12.35) was HST.

Any news re 802 006/7 entering service today on the diagram starting with 06.45 BRI SWA?

Yesterday (Sat 18th August 2018), I saw a 5-car unit on the 09:38 Carmarthen to Paddington. Is that the first time one of the new trains has worked to/from Carmarthen in service at the weekend (I know the weekday services have been booked for class 800s for a while)? Also, does anyone happen to know if it was an 800 or an 802?

Class 800, there was only 1 diagram for 802s and it wasn't to Carmarthen.
802s are mainly for Devon and Cornwall, so are unlikely to work to Carmarthen

The first Class 802 is carrying passengers from Cornwall today apparently. Not sure what service though.

Thanks; I assumed it would be an 800 since the 802s are for Devon and Cornwall as you say, but then I saw JN114's post above with 802s doing Bristol and Swansea so thought I would check.

So, was yesterday the first 800 to Carmarthen in service at the weekend?

No, they’ve been to Carmarthen on weekends several times over the past few months
