I thought the first version of that post was better. ;) ;)

I'm planning to be on the 06.00 ex BRI on Monday, but will keep an eye on Hurricane Ophelia. Monday could be a bit windy...

Does anyone in the know have an idea when these devices will reach Worcester?

Should be from January 2, in place of the Class 180s, which leave GWR at Christmas. Clarence Yard or someone else may know if there may be some running on Cotswold Line duties on New Year's Day.

What concerns me is the thought of the 180s going and no IET to replace them. A Turbo vice a 180 don't work and with Turbo migration to Bristol what provides the service!

Why are you 'concerned'? I told you what the plan is - what's the problem with that?

I was going on the STP ECS moves which have input from the depots at St Philips Marsh and Stoke Gifford to Bristol Parkway, whose numbers relate to the off peak Cardiff to Paddington services. These are usually the first ones to be cancelled or amended in the event of disruption. My suspicion is that the passenger train alterations have not yet been uploaded to the internal systems and thus do not appear on RTT, probably because of internal arguments going on.
In which case I wonder if they're leaving it a bit late, it appears at the moment as though all Monday's usual through-trains from Swansea are still running and bookable on all the public booking engines, despite the GWR engineering leaflet saying there will be a reduced service?

Also I did see the ECS you mentioned, although my first thought was that those paths had just been entered in the event anything goes wrong and/or the engineering work overruns? I may be wrong.

Well they now seem to have disappeared, so it might be happy days!

I also see 2 alternative ECS movements on RTT for an early Paddington departure on Monday, either from Old Oak or North Pole, plus I asked GWR help earlier if IET is confirmed for Monday and of course, they said no!

Until the end of the year the Class 800 ECS moves have duplicate 'Q' versions from the equivalent HST depot to allow Control to substitute HSTs back onto the diagrams if required.

Of course they would say no. Plenty of times, again and again in fact, GWR are not giving any firm declarations as to Monday, because obviously, if all does go wrong, at least no firm commitments were made in the first place. It's not easy getting all these IET's signed off and approved for service by Monday, hence all the backup schedules for the ECS moves, but with any luck, all should form into place. Just a bit of a hiccup to overcome now, whereby GWR were hoping to use this weekend to get some last minute training done, unfortunately thanks to the no notice blockade at Reading, this won't be happening, which adds to the uncertainty. But there are definitely enough drivers, train managers and hosts ready to work the trains from Monday, so the only issue would be train related. (or maybe strike related reading what's been put up above...)

I have moved fifty off-topic posts into a new dedicated thread which can be found here. Anyone wishing to discuss the possible dispute around a lack of training for the new trains should use that thread leaving this one clear for discussion around the diagrams the trains are going to be on.

Many thanks,

Also on P7 with some rather peeved press people. Not sure why it’s subbed for a HST, but this HST has been here since I got here and I reckon it’s a backup.
