Bbuses have been operating on most routes today. A few sections of route have been missed out due to road conditions. Services in outer South East London and outer East London were disrupted as Arriva's Grays and Dartford Garages were unable to send any buses out until around 08.00.

No services operated until mid-day, during the afternoon a limited service managed to operate on most town routes although the 7, 14 and 16 did not run. No service on any of the "country" routes.

Last departures from Tower Ramparts will be by 19.30 tonight.

First Norfolk & Suffolk appeared not to run anything today apart from the Excel between Swaffham and Peterborough.

Reading

Reading Buses ran pretty much everything today as the weather was less severe to the West of London - however this situation may change overnight. The biggest cause of disruption was heavy traffic.

Torquay & South Devon

Even the UK's warmest town had snow today. All routes running, but some sections of route being missed out. 32 not serving Raleigh Avenue & Queensway, Gold missing out Westonfields in Totnes. In the Plymouth area route 2 missed some sections in the Plymstock area, and route 48 was unable to serve Wembury.

The South West is likely to be hit by heavy snow on Thursday and Friday.

Uno seem to be running fine, all of the buses I saw today were on time. The Arriva 301 I wanted to get left 7 minutes early which was lovely(!) and led to me standing in a freezing bus stop in the snow for ten minutes waiting for the much slower Uno 653 .

Not very well, McGills went by about 10 this morning and First pulled the plug at about 3 this afternoon. Admittedly, the snow is quite deep and many of the roads don't appear to have been cleared/gritted so I can't say I blame them.

First Aberdeen have been seeing 30 - 40 minute delays, they were having a meeting this afternoon over whether or not to stop services tonight and in to tomorrow, but so far nothing has been cancelled.

Stagecoach North Scotland have had a number of accidents including a Solo, Interdeck and a number of other coaches coming off the road. Details on their delays and cancellations as of 18:02 can be found by clicking here

Lost somewhere within Bank-Monument tube station,
First Norfolk & Suffolk appeared not to run anything today apart from the Excel between Swaffham and Peterborough.

FEC did attempt to run services during the early morning, sticking to main roads only, however the conditions deteriorated to the point where all services in Norwich, Yarmouth and Lowestoft were suspended after 9am. I should know, I ended up doing a six hour round trip on the X2 trying to get to work, and then back home. o_O

- 60/61/66/75/76/77 all operated today but on main roads only
- All other routes have not operated at all
- From 7pm tonight all services on all routes were pulled.

National Express (Coaches)
Many services cancelled, far more than they list on their website where they claim there is only little disruption, there's a much longer list of services announced on twitter as not running.

Today was "the norm" for snowy days in Gtr. Manchester. Disruption on ungritted side roads and the odd main road in North and East of the county, but buses probably running better than normal at lower levels. Yesterday was different; most of Tameside, Stockport and parts of South Manchester were gridlocked. NOT due to the weather per se, just the usual incidents on the M60 between Failsworth and Sharston.
Main problem, as ever is not so much whether buses can run, but whether passengers can reach them along ice-rink pavements.

I'm on the Humber Fastcat right now going from Scunthorpe to Hull and it's skipped the villages in between and using the M180 and the A15 to get to Barton then Hull. Lucky a double decker isn't in use as I saw warning signs on the M180/A15 saying that the Humber Bridge is closed to high sided vehicles.

Some updates for Thursday 1st March @ 09.30:

Ipswich

Ipswich Buses: a much better day today. All town routes except 7, 14 and 16 running, with slight delays. Country routes 92, 93, 94 running but buses are not serving East Bergholt; 94a, 97/98 suspended; 111 running between Ipswich and Brampton.

No news on the First Norfolk & Suffolk website.

Reading

Reading Buses: everything seems to be getting through. Biggest problem appears to be schools announcing they are not opening today - when the school buses are already en-route. A couple of regular journeys have had to be cancelled so the buses can take the students home again!

Torquay & South Devon

Stagecoach South West: currently everything operating. A few diversions:
- Torquay Sea Front is closed - this is a regular occurence when severe storms approach from the East. Buses 12, 22 and Gold are on the usual lengthy diversion via Belgrave Road, Torre, Shiphay, the Ring Road and Preston Downs Road rejoining line of route at Preston.
- 32 operating via Sherwell Valley Road instead of Queensway/Raleigh Road
- Gold staying on main road A385 to and from Totnes, missing out Higher Westonfields.

Plymouth CityBus: most services running. 20a is not serving Smithaleigh and is only serving Ivybridge Town Centre, not the estates. 70/70a are not operating beyond Torpoint, HMS Raleigh. 75 not serving Seaton and Downderry.

The Met. Office has issued a Red Weather Warning for South Devon from 15.00 today until 02.00 on Friday which could mean fun and games later ..... Plymouth CityBus has already issued a list of roads/areas that are likely to have their services suspended after midday - https://www.plymouthbus.co.uk/news-...march-expected-disruption/?platform=hootsuite

We're loading up vehicles with supplies for those currently stuck on the #M80 and #M876. Remember please avoid travel, especially on these routes while severe weather warnings are in force. If you are caught in this conditions please stay in your car & wait for help to arrive.

Updates at 12.20:

Ipswich: in the last hour things have deteriorated due to icy conditions, routes 15/15a, 92 and 111 now suspended, diversions are in place on routes 1, 2, 12 and 13 and significant outer sections of routes 8, 9 & 10 are not being covered - unusually routes 9/10 are operating to Whitehouse ASDA (via Norwich Road) instead of around Whitton and Castle Hill, whilst route 8 is terminating at Bramford Road, Red Lion. No news yet on evening services.

Reading: all services still getting through, heavy traffic still the main issue.

South Devon: Torquay seafront reopened just after 10.00 as the high tide abated. Red Weather Warning still in place from 15.00; for the time being Plymouth CityBus still have most of their services going apart from the changes to the 20a, 70/70a and 75 mentioned above.

London: Thursday 1st March.

Very little additional snow has fallen, although the wind is making it feel very cold indeed and contributing to icy conditions.

Buses are doing surprisingly well, although several estates off main roads are not being served and the W5 route between Archway and Harringay, which operates mostly on back roads in a very hilly area of North London, was pulled completely at 10.00.

Spoke too soon. In Paignton, Roselands is now closed (routes 13 and 22 are operating on Brixham Road) and Fox has stopped operating, also Brixham local services 17 and 18/18a are now suspended.

Also Torbay Buses suspended all its services today.

Things are changing very quickly in South Devon now. Route 31 is diverted via Penny's Hill, route 34 not operating between Watcombe Roundabout and The Willows, and in the Town Centre buses are using Belgrave Road instead of Shedden Hill Road. Stagecoach are warning that conditions in Dartmouth are now deteriorating rapidly and services to, from and within the town may be suspended soon. In Newton Abbot route 77 is turning at Penn Inn and not serving Buckland.

UPDATED: even as I was typing this route 31 is now curtailed at Hele Roundabout and not operating into Barton, whilst route 34 is now operating via Babbacombe Road (not serving Ellacombe) and terminating at Watcombe Garage. Union Street and Abbey Road in Torquay Town Centre are no longer being served. It looks like going forward that buses will stick to main roads and not serve estates.

Slight correction to above in that route 18/18a is still operating Brixham-Kingswear, but the 18a journeys are not running around the Summercombe Estate.

First Aberdeen

First Aberdeen are currently running all services but with delays of around 10 minutes on most services. Also affected by staff who live in outlying areas struggling to get in. Further updates to follow ongoing this morning.

https://www.firstgroup.com/aberdeen...issues/service-update-1030-thursday-1st-march

Stagecoach North Scotland
Stagecoach North Scotland would like to advise customers of disruption to bus services due to the severe weather conditions. This page will be updated throughout the day with any disruption to bus services.

We recommend to allow additional time for travel as we are expecting services to be delayed due to road conditions.

All services usually operating to/from Aberdeen bus station are operating from the last scheduled stop before Union Square due to a loose roof panel at Union Square. An area of the bus station has been sealed off by police and as a result stopping areas are temporarily revised.

As a result of the bus station being inaccessible the last scheduled stop in Aberdeen will be where all services terminate. Service 10 will use Guild Street as the last stop rather than Denburn.

Jet 727 will leave from normal JET Stance.

Passengers should wait for services on Union Street/Bridge Street for services from Aberdeen as the bus station will be congested due to the restricted area.

Aberdeenshire
All services in operation with the following exceptions.
Service 41/105/107/119/248/253/273/290/291/308/422 are suspended until further notice.

Services 272 will resume at 1000.
Service 270 will resume at 1225.
Service 69 will resume at 1000 from both Fraserburgh and Peterhead.

Moray
Service 35 is in operation however will be unable to stop on Duff Street, High Street or Skene Street, Macduff. Passengers should use stops on Barnhill Road or the depot.
All services are in operation on their full routes but subject to delay due to road conditions.

First Kernow - the situation gets worse the further west or south you go. Nothing in or out of Falmouth today, the depot being inaccessible for a start. Helston doesn't have the 39 or U4 or, obviously, anything worked by Falmouth. As far as I know, nothing on the Lizard. Penzance has the A17, initially St Ives to Penzance main road only but now apparently extended to Madron. T1/2, I've seen conflicting info but basically operating throughout I think, but there may be the odd diversion. The Mousehole bus is operating, but not to Mousehole:smile:- Newlyn Bridge via the Coombe apparently, and I'm interested to know how they're turning there, not that I can get out there to see it, the roads in central Penzance away from the very main one being impassable for the last 24 hours, even 4x4 having severe difficulties with the ice. It's snowing again, but lightly and without yesterday's wind, so we may escape the worst of today's Spring offering.

Greater Manchester is faring worse than yesterday, bt as usual, Ice is the problem, not snow. Its mainly ungritted "minor" roads, but also a few where the gradients might be causing a bigger problem. Interesting to note that my former home ground is affected with the latter problem, but ever competent Stagecoach have solely stated the evening/Sunday service, rather than the day-time service and another peak variation! Of course, TFGM and the MEN have replicated this error.

More generally, the amber warning for GM (and probably other parts of the North West) has been upgraded to yellow, as it seems a change in wind direction has worsened the forecast.

Torbay: Stagecoach withdrawing all its services in and around Torquay, Paignton and Brixham from 14.30 onwards. Torbay Buses had already suspended all its services for the day.

All services from Stagecoach's Exeter Depot were also suspended this afternoon. Plymouth Depot has withdrawn all routes except the Park-and-Ride services and a limited service on route 2 between Elburton and St Budeaux (Tamar Bridge) only. However a few buses did stay out on Torquay's route 12 (Newton Abbot-Torquay-Paignton-Brixham) after all.

Plymouth CityBus has suspended several of its hilly outer sections of route and is now concentrating on main roads only, with maintaining a link between Derriford Hospital and the City Centre a priority. Very restricted services will operate tomorrow (Friday 2nd March).

Most Stagecoach services in North Devon are continuing to operate as this part of Devon is not as badly affected by the weather conditions. Route 6/6a (Exeter-Bude) is not operating and route 155 is operating between Barnstaple and South Molton only with no service to Tiverton and Exeter.
