I would also go and kill Ernest Marples (the guy who caused the Beeching cuts and the general decline in the railways) before he became transport minister in the 1960s

With Dr Beeching replaced with a man who knew his stuff - Gerald Fiennes who would carry out much needed reform to the railways but carefully pruning not cutting off bits that could with a little help bloom later on.

Saying that I would ensure the railways got the investment that it needed so the Thameslink project would have been completed before the reopening of Snow Hill tunnel instead of 2015 being the year it finishes.

Electrification wouldn't have been done on the cheap as well - ECML!

Perhaps when we consider Beeching, I'd go and speak to high-up people about what the railways are like now, where Beeching went wrong, and urge them to not simply take his report on this face value. That's if I couldn't find a way of destroying the report.

And then eradicate Barbara Castle, the labour minister who implemented most of the cuts despite having campaigned against them before the election (now where has that happened since...Oh, i know, 1997)

Thats a bit harsh saying you would kill someone for somthing like that?

I know it was harsh what he done to the railways and i agree, but there no-need to kill him he was only doing hes job!.

Anyway a new one for me..

I would go back to the 80s with the designs of all the EMUs from the 2000s and 1990s and build them them and take all the credit, and get a good job:lol:!

So everyone will have to vote Liberal instead, eh?

Well the reason the country is in such a mess is down to Nu Labour:

Crime
Immigration
Education
Pensions
Health
Transport
Armed Forces
Europe
Treasury

All in a far worse state then when they took over in 97!

Not to mention we could have weathered this recession better if that muppet listened to professional advice instead of encouraging a spend, spend spend culture.

How about our repeated failures to send unwanted people back to their own country like Hamza who preaches hate about the UK - can't send them back as that would infringe their human rights yet we can send some bloke with learning difficulties who just happen to show that the security on the US government networks is a joke and should have been hired by them to increase the security from real threats such as al-Qaeda back to the US with no problems what so ever!

I could go on and on and on but the simple truth of it is the country has gone to the dogs under the current management and needs a new government and a new way of thinking.

Well the reason the country is in such a mess is down to Nu Labour:

Crime Same - Tories love lots of crime it gives them something to be tough on and protect us from
Immigration Same - big business (i.e. tories) like cheap labour
Education Better
Pensions Better
Health Way, way better than it ever would under the Tories
Transport Slightly better - the franchise model is John Major's but Labour have improved things a bit
Armed Forces Same
Europe Same - big business likes us in Europe
Treasury Way better - the shadow chancellor is an absolute muppet

All in a far worse state then when they took over in 97!
Not all - see above.

I could go on and on and on but the simple truth of it is the country has gone to the dogs under the current management and needs a new government and a new way of thinking.

We've had various shades of Thatcherism since 1979 - how about a real change? A proper old-fashioned, common sense, socialist Labour government! :D

Its disappointing that nobody yet has pledged to use their time machine to try and prevent any of the many fatal accidents that have happened on our railways over the years

An admirable sentiment, but there's the fact that after most serious accidents, safety improvements are made: Block working, AWS, maintiance practice, etc. So if you avoid one accident, that danger will still be there, and there'll be a different accident instead.
