yea but some people will never see him again, never hear stories about his presant live beacause he's gone, i wasn't a fan but i'm saddend beacsue i sort of liked his music and knew how much his family, freinds and countless people felt across the world felt about him, he's all over the news, what celebrity isn't nowadays. an important figure in the world has gone like John Lennon, JFK and Martin Luther King, not many knew them personally but how many people were saddened across the world, I know you can't compare Jackson to all of these people but they can relate to each other and please show respect by keeping your bad comments and jokes to yourself.

Rest In Peace

Michael Jackson
(1958 - 2009)

how can you compare him to them? unless your saying MJ was assasinated like the papers claim? Michael sang songs and went to court over sex offender offences, JFK was a US president (a leader), Martin Luther King stood up for the right of Black people in america and John Lennon........errr... had to sleep with Yoko.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Easily. MJ is arguably a bigger world wide celebrity than any of them. How he died is not relevant to that.

Hail all! <D
Despite not being a fan of MJ, I've been watching with close interest the arrangements concerning refunds for those who would've been attending MJs shows had they been going ahead...And I have to say that I'm especially disgusted at AEG Live's approach to it all! <(

For those who havn't looked into refund arrangements yet, what AEG have basically done is to force MJ fans into making a choice between the following options:
  1. Full refund: Refund of all ticket(s) and booking fee(s) paid, but with no form of keepsake or other memerobilia in relation to the planned events, or
  2. "Fufilment": The original ticket(s) will be sent out to buyer(s) as a souvenir of the event that can no longer happen - But this is in lieu of a refund, and no monies in relation to ticket nor booking fee will be returned.
To clarify my own (Rather disgusted) views on the matter, I'll quote a post that I stuck up on the Speak Out about AEG petition on Maximum Jackson about half an hour ago...

Personally, I wasn't a dedicated fan of Michael Jackson like the majority of people here (My main musical interest being Black Metal) but at the same time I'm likewise extremely disgusted by the way that AEG are trying to profiteer off of Michael Jacksons death in this way. I thought that the touts all over eBay were bad enough...But what AEG is trying to pull here goes beyond and below even that! <(

Personally, I would say that everyone should receive their original tickets and a full refund...And the only thing taken for any souvenir tickets issued should be either £1.00 or the original booking fee.
Although I admit that I'm not in the same situation as most others on this petition, I know that my feelings would be the same if Wacken Open Air was cancelled one year and ICS GmbH offered me the same option!

So this petition/debate has my full support in every way...And in my view (Or indeed, any reasonable person's view) what AEG are trying to get away with here is not only downright disrespectful, but also nothing short of a ten ton kick in the painful bits to thousands of people just for being fans of Michael Jackson! <(

Incidentally...What about the tickets themselves? If this "Lenticular" process isn't tightly controlled and it was possible to get hold of some design masters, wouldn't it be cheaper and just as genuine as the "real" thing for you all to have your own souvenir tickets privately printed? ;)
So to put it quite bluntly: Dedicated and faithful fans of Michael Jackson are being forced to choose between getting their money back (As per their statutory legal rights) but having no form of keepsake of MJs last planned tour, or getting a bit of card as a souvenir which - Though of immense sentimental value to any MJ fan - Is nowhere near worth the £50-75 (In pure fiscal terms) that they'll effectively lose in obtaining said souvenir! <(

Now personally, I think the whole thing stinks worse than my socks ever could, and I'm seriously hoping that someone instigates a lawsuit against AEG for such unforgivable profiteering on the back of MJs death. Offering souvenir tickets at no more than £1.00 each only to those who had previously managed to obtain real ones would be one thing, and maybe reasonable in some ways...But what they are doing in this case goes far beyond the realms of bang out of order in my own opinion... <(

Anyhow...What I'm mainly interested in is the views of everyone else about the forum. I know that we have at least one person who managed to get a ticket to the event in question, and I'd be especially interested to hear his views on the whole matter as well as everyone else's. :)

Farewell for now...And if anyone knows the MD of AEG Live; PLEASE give him the heartiest kick in the knackers that ye can on behalf of every wronged MJ fan! <D

You may think AEG are profiteering but what about their cut of revenues for merchandise, refreshments and whatever other commercial activities would have gone on in this 50 date orgy. They've lost a huge chunk of money and they're offering a full refund or an alternative for a fee so I gather. Are we going to have ticket holders wanting a place guaranteed to view his coffin if it goes on display? Of more concern is the sordid grief people are getting themselves into about someone they don't actually know. In their fanaticism they can't seperate knowing his performances and his songs from knowing the man. How can people be taking time off work to grieve over someone they most likely never spoke ONE SINGLE word too. It's Diana all over again, the world would have up believe that it was only Charles who had extra marital affairs, Harry is so obviously not his! Which brings us on to MJs white skinned light blonde haired 'son'........
