the 1s - 4s did have the seat covers replaced..... just a big shame they werent replaced with a better seat cover and not those sandpaper ones.

Ah fair enough-I don't regularly use Southern, and I'm not overly clued up on seat renewals! That all being said, replacing a seat cover with one made of sandpaper hardly seems like a good replacement to me :lol:

Am willing to be corrected/updated on this, but the 318s still to go down to Doncaster for repaint/refurbishment are (according to scot-rail.co.uk): 318250/318255-256/318260-261 & 318267-268 (7 units), with 318269 currently in the works.

Is there really no cure for the squeaky seat back trays on electrostars?

I guess it prevents you oversleeping and missing your stop!

158706 and 170416 are latest scotrail repaints in saltire colours (170416 is on lease from southern which surprised me since its due to leave for southern in 2018)

Is there a list of which 377/5 carry the plain purple livery?

Also how many 317/8 are in LOROL livery... 317888 reported but yet to see a pic? Interesting they are so slow to rebrand these as they were rapid with 315 and 317/7 although they redid the interiors of those so perhaps that's why... not sure the 317/8 see much use outside the peaks either

The first page has Class 143 : 143605-608/616/622-624 in the new ATW livery

The new 2017 pocket book has 143602/604-608/616/622-625 so which is correct?

All information posted is as provided by observers or people with contacts - some errors occur - 170417 is one - just checked photographs and see in Barbie livery in November 2016. Thanks for picking this up. I checked my own records and this may have been a finger mistake when typing.

Photo checks for ATW confirm the three additional units [602/604/625], so this listing updated too.

no worries the pocket book makes mistakes too thinks 317723/32 still in GA livery!

319013/216/429/441/455/457/460 are with London Midland AFAIK 319441/455/457 remain in FCC livery. 319429/460 are in a temporary white with grey door livery.


319370/381/384/385/450-454 are the only 319s left in FCC livery in service with TL as FCC liveried 319442/448 reported at Wolverton

Worth noting 319001/004/009/010/011 haven't had their interior touched since new besides seat covers despite being in TL livery

319452 reported as having been/being done (TSGN), with 319381 expected to replace it at Wolverton.

319455 for LM, also reported as having gone into works. 319441 has been in full LM livery since October. EDIT: 319460 now in full LM scheme.

That would leave 319370/384/385 & 451/453/454 with TSGN and 455 with LM all still operating in FCC livery.

All the LM 319s are now fully liveried apart from 319455 as noted. 319441/457 have both been to Wolverton, 319429/460 were vinyled at Northampton.

They are still going back and forth to Derby. From what I have observed the following can be added:

375803/804/806; 375918/924.

I believe 375907 is currently on its way back from Derby.

I have no idea as to the units currently at Derby being processed.

Presume all 377/5s are plain purple now with the fcc urban lights removed as I haven't seen one with the vinyl on for ages

158718 is in new scotrail livery, 158703 is apparently away for a repaint right now.

170416 is in fact in all over blue livery vice the new scotrail livery and is partly refurbished inside

I believe that 314214 is undergoing a repaint from SPT to the new scotrail livery and another 314 is due after 314214 is finished

170410 is in the new scotrail livery, whilst 170417 is in all over blue. Leaving only 3 scotrail 170s (11/19/20) in the first scotrail livery.

Don't know if 170414 is also be repainted from borders livery to new scotrail livery
