Not a misunderstanding at all. I was only trying to help. I’m after all, an “armchair viewer” like yourself.Slight misunderstanding here I believe.
By diagrams I meant proper diagrams not just a list of train times and introduction dates.

On 9th Aug and showing again for today 14th Aug
1E01 (05:40) EDB - KGX formed 1D11 (11:03) KGX - LDS
1A12 (07:00) HULL - KGX formed 1N83 (11:06) KGX - YRK
Thus the EDB (Craigentinny) Starter does not end up at Craigentinny.

The mystery has been 1E01's next working, but if thats 1D11 (which it seems to regularly be) then it then works 1A33, 1H10 and 1J10 for a Doncaster Carr finish, which makes much more sense.
And then, presumably, the set which starts off as 1A12 from Hull and goes into 1N83 for York, 1Y86 back to London and then 1S27 the 1730 back to Edinburgh which puts another Azuma in Edinburgh for the next days 1E01?
I was at London Kings Cross today and say two Azuma's coupled up departing from platform 6 forming the 15:03 to Leeds. However after checking RTT apparently the 15:03 train wasn't open for the public despite the fact I am pretty sure I saw passengers on the train.
The question I want to ask if is the 15:03 train a driver training train for drivers learning to drive the 800/801's, a special occasion train or an actual train service running to Leeds despite RTT saying it isn't.

It's an oddity. It's in the timetable as one of the standard half-hourly trains between London and Leeds, but not in RTT in service for some time around today.

It is the round trip that was removed when they were struggling with Class 91 availability some time ago. It has never been restored and is therefore available to testing Azumas and operating them on special non-passenger workings.
Thankyou for your reply. So would that train have been a driver training service? The only thing I'm confused about is the on the destination boards on the 801 it said it was a train service to Leeds.
Also are there any plans to re-instate the 15:03 to Leeds service?

Even odder. The May 2019 timetable shows the 1503. Looking at timetable changes for a particular day does not show these changes. Do you have to be in the know to find the information?
I assumed looking at the current timetable and then checking for changes for today should be enough checking.
All the information was on the News Pages of the LNER Website. Just had to look at the Website!
Bit odd that these services commencing on September 9th are not shown on the LNER Azuma list. Were removed 12 months ago!!

Mind you that list isn't realiy up to much when said list shows from 16th September 1002 Kings Cross to York but it's outward working 0706 Kings Cross to York commencing 30th September !!!!!
Many thanks for spotting my undeliberate error. You mean 1002 york- kings Kings Cross
The changes were on the timetable changes page. I thought all the services were reinstated now though. Why would I look on the news pages to find out if there was a timetable change when there's a well publicised Timetable Changes page?
Especially an article from 2018.
Would you not expect these changes to timetables to be either mentioned on the Timetable Changes page or not to be in the published timetable?

Maybe they were, but they're not now.The changes were on the timetable changes page. I thought all the services were reinstated now though.
At the time it kinda was. VTEC had run the fleet into the ground trying to run more services than ever before on an old and already delicate fleet. Taking those services out gave vital breathing room to try and deliver the service somewhat reliably.Love LNER's euphemistic use of amended instead of removed. Now cancelling a service is a good thing. Lovely stuff!
All 23 class 800s only. 801s in service from September
