As of 24 hours ago, 91108 wasn’t planned to work an LNER passenger service again.

Then 91129 failed at Doncaster overnight.

Therefore today, 91108 went on to BN12 and 91129 replaced it in platform 2.

91108 will also be out tomorrow (workings TBC) though I would expect tomorrow to be its last day in passenger service.

Also of note, 43045/NL03/43064 have been hired from EMT, to work:

1A48 1845 LDS - KGX
5D48 2152 KGX - NL.

The combination of the above prevented a number of cancellations.

The list above is still partially correct - however there have been a number of subsequent revisions.

Ah.... well this time it’s quite a bit more likely :D

I’m led to believe it has to be at Wabtec by 31 July to go off lease. There’s a path in to get it there from Bounds Green on Tuesday morning....

What's the current situation with 91116? Is it back out on duty or still in bounds green for repairs after the fire damage?

Still on repairs at Bounds Green.

108 will donate some of its bits to get 116 back.

I realise there’s a good answer to this, but why not just off lease 116 and keep 108 going? Seems mad to take a working loco and take parts to fix a broken one......

Basically yes - the next major exam on 108 is sooner than that for 116.

But Hungary has no need for freight locos, since MAV sold the freight operations to Rail Cargo Austria, and MAV have plenty of TRAXX, and Taurus locos for passenger stuff.
Plus a load of BR143s going spare, which are arguably way more suitable.
Not sure what Bulgaria would do with them either?

And nobody has a need for a high-geared passenger loco to work heavy freight.
Most freight systems are busy ordering new Vectrons, with their extensive and proven cross-border capability.
ETCS will eventually kill off many older locos, as it won't be economic to convert them (starting with the southern ECML).

I'll ask the obvious... Any plan for LNER to run a farewell tour? I'm not talking like the GWR HST one, but one more the like the BLS "Bound for Craigy" (although this was not a farewell tour). Given the recent news, I'm sure a charity tour in aide of St. Johns would go down well for both parties. Just throwing it out there is all :)

91132 is the next one to be withdrawn according to LNER

That’s not the current plan.

Any unplanned major issues aside, 108, 103, 117 and 120 are planned to be the first four to go, though which of 117 and 120 finishes in traffic first is still to be confirmed.
