Does 172331/332 have the full seating yet or will they need to be sent back to Litchurch for fitting?
Hmmmm red seats on an LM train are they secretly planning 1st class!
WTF? They look completely different to any other 172s I've seen.
London Midland specified units with corridor connections, which is why they're different to the other 172s. It's a very sensible decision and I'm amazed that it wasn't done earlier on some of the other Turbostars given that Electrostars have been displaying the corridor fitted arrangement for a decade now.WTF? As TEW says above me, they're probably just temporary seats that Derby had to hand at the time, to allow staff to sit down during training runs. There's just one seating bay behind the cab at each end as far as I have been able to make out, so they'll most likely be changed for the correct seating type as fitted to the rest of the 172/3s.Hmmmm red seats on an LM train are they secretly planning 1st class!
(no chance it's the Snow Hill Lines!)
well i saw no 172 movement yesterday at tyseley ,although i didnt stay to long.! there was only 332 (no seats ) and 337 (with seats) standing idle. and a handfull of 170s going through the wash .
Not before time too... can't wait for the cascades!
I dont think the managment at Northern & FGW can wait either
read on WNXX that at least 1 class 172 is expected to enter service this weekend and that London Midland are standing down some of their class 150's
Any idea of the diagrams?
Yes, I've heard it'll be those two as well; they suit their position on the Snow Hill lines - they'd be the odd ones out anywhere else. It says in the latest RUS (May 2011) that they recommend that some 150s stay.I am told LM is keeping some 150's namely my old friends 001 and 002!

I don't need to go searching for them, they can come to me!Yes they would't fit in elsewhere. I suggested to a few people they could bring them up here to Lincolnshire but it didn't go down well due to the DKS switches only being at either end of the 3 car set! . . As soon as 172's come in on Snow Hill lines I will get down there and have a run out on one!![]()
Yes, but if they went up north or somewhere else, the likelihood is that everything else is a 2 car unit and would mess with the diagrams. At least in Birmingham there are a lot of other 3 car units (170/6,172/3).They'd be the odd ones out in Birmingham...![]()
I knew (I don't mind), I just wanted to make a point!Sorry, I got what you were saying but I felt like being awkward!![]()
