Hi all,

I regularly travel up and down the WCML. I hate the class 321s which are old, slow and tatty now and much prefer the new Desiros! Can anyone let me know which services are scheduled to be run by the Desiros so I know which ones to take?

Thanks! :)

Completely agree - Euston to Northampton journeys are usually about an hour and 321s are slow, noisy, uncomfortable, cramped and either too hot or too cold.

Desiros are much nicer from a passenger perspective. Or a Meridian if you can get to Wellingborough instead.

I've never understood why 321s lack comfort and can't ride well - for some reasons the 317/2s which were on the GN mainline always seemed to ride better.

Must be different 321s that I have travelled on. I have always found the 321s to have more comfortable seats and leg-room compared to 350s and 323s.

why 3 x high density seating units to Crewe???? :o

It may be 'shortened' at Northampton I guess. Bringing it up as a 12 car unit may just be convenient.

I notice on Saturday that the Trent Valley service comes up from Euston as an 8 car formation and splits at Northampton - front 4 for Trent Valley and Crewe, back 4 for New Street. They remerge on the return.

Hello

I have just found this site by chance while attempting to find out about the train movements at Northampton for terminating services from Birmingham. Can someone knowledgeable tell me what route trains take between arriving in platform 1 from Birmingham and departing from platform 2? Do they reverse via North Junction or South Junction?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

regards

David

IMO xx33 Brum-Northampton tends to then form xx56 return out of one of the northern bays??

Bring back silverlink, all is forgiven.....
