I shall be on there later this week so am hoping to try the butternut squash macaroni!
Looks like there's less choice. I'm sure there used to be two meat choices for dinner + vegetarian.LNER have got a new menu for first class.

Yorkshire Pudding sounds good! Hope I will be able to give it a go soon. Shame they've got rid of the curry though as that was my favourite from the previous menu.
I guess the weekly special will add another choice plus give an element of variety for more regular passengers.Looks like there's less choice. I'm sure there used to be two meat choices for dinner + vegetarian.

There is now this dessert option, on Azuma trains only.
It was nice, a bit like a cheesecake I suppose.Blimey they are really pushing the boat out - looks like a glorified Yoghurt !!
Was it tasty ?
You know the thing that always sticks out to me is that LNER's presentation keeps letting them down with their hot food. The breakfast always looks good but everything else always looks dreadful. But, despite the appearance, nearly every item I've ever had from the menu has been tasty and hit the spot! But to look at them? They often just look like random gloop...
The more disappointing thing was the lack of any hot drinks service throughout the journey, or my 'Chef Signature Menu' truffle! The meal presented above looks somewhat akin to a school dinner in my view - both in terms of presentation and quantity.
Perhaps it's time they introduced a "Go Large" option !!
To be honest as long as the Scotch keeps flowing I don't mind getting a happy meal to accompany it.
Novel way to do the toast:

I thought that was great, far better than cold toast in isolation.
No mushroom?
About a dozen beans. Barely worth bothering!
By sliding the egg off with a knife and using the butter provided. That's what I did.But you've got to love the triangular egg!
Not sure how you're supposed to butter the toast though.
And what appears to be half a slice of toast !!!
Even when served after the main meal, you only got a half slice.
A cynic might think the toast is now placed on the plate first (seems to be what always happens now) so the stinginess can be concealed.
Not wishing to stir up the East Coast / West Coast rivalry but I had three slices of toast after my latest VWC breakfast.
Exactly right. Easily done.By sliding the egg off with a knife and using the butter provided. That's what I did.

It was a full slice of toast, BTW. Buttered up nicely because it was still warm.
Mushrooms - certainly not yesterday. It’s the tomato I miss.
Have there been any cases of cows hit on the line this week?...

Was that one full slice halved or two full slices? If true that is ridiculous - I got 2 slices on both of my trips in September on LNER.
Was a light-hearted point about the measly portion size. I think I did well guaging others that were served tooThat looks nice.
