I didn't even notice that before, that looks really nice on them.I do like the attention to detail with these liveries, I particularly like the way they've done the back ends on 201-215 as well with the black and gold edges around the body lines;

They will be on the 4 as well as they’re interworking.378 and 394 on Service 5 today for some unknown reason.
Central has some of the 4, 5 and 44 on a Sunday now.Quite a few Central buses on the 44 today incl 354
Service 5 looks like Central today as well
They are, yes.The buses on Services 4/5 seem to be interworking today unless there is an error on lvf.io.
348 appears to be in service today, but the majority of those buses do seem to be at MarineLooks like the Longstone ex London are all at Central and Marines 324 to 350 are withdrawn
Is a difference made between the standard-length B9s and the short B9s, when vehicles are allocated to a route?Looks to be the following. There’s probably more but this is all I’ve noticed so far.
1016 now at Central
1017 and 1050 TBC. 1017 looks to have worked a Central service already, 1050 to Marine if you read my next bit.
1022-1027 now at Marine.
Up to and including 419 now appear to be at Marine as well, although this could be wrong by a few buses.
My thinking is numerically up to and including 342 are no longer required based on the existing movements, the rest (343-350) would go on the reduction of service or further vehicles going to Marine (420-425 remain at Central, so a case of 6 in (420-425), 6 out (343-348) maybe once enough new B5TL’s are in place at Central.) I’m not saying this will happen but I wouldn’t be surprised if Central’s ex London B9TL’s or the Enviro 400’s (201-215) move again. 1017 and 1050 could be the last two needed to take the total to 8 and allow the last two to go like for like (349-350). 1017 would move based on new B5TL’s as well. At this stage I’m unsure as to what B9TL’s have actually gone, but assuming the number of buses needed hasn’t gone up for Marine (seems unlikely) then up to 342 should no longer be needed. I should stress this is by no means correct, so for example 341 may still be in use with 347 going, again purely an example by using the lowest numbers left.
Service 19 appears to be getting allocated most of these extra ex London’s that Marine has received. I had one to work this morning and for me they’re just so much better than the outgoing B9TL’s. My only concern with them has always been space but hopefully with the 19 maintaining its frequency it should work fine.
In any case I’m overthinking this and will any of this happen? Possibly some of it but all of it no.
There’s a whole bunch meant to be leaving London soon. Obviously won’t happen but they’re relatively cheap as well. From a passenger point of view I have to agree that the X London stock is so much better, perhaps we should buy loads more of it and convert it to Lothian spec rather than buying new.
In what sense? I'd agree that the ex-London B9s are slightly better than the native B9s because they've been refurbished, but refurbishment aside (i.e. seats, floors), are they any better? I'd say the new B8s and B5s are better than the ex-London vehicles as the new ones have audio announcements. From a passenger point of view I have to agree that the X London stock is so much better, perhaps we should buy loads more of it and convert it to Lothian spec rather than buying new.
For me personally it's if you go from an ex London with the heavy refurb, high backed seats and classy dark interior to the blue bus seated native example it feels more than a two year jump backwards. In what sense? So is it confirmed that 324-347 are withdrawn from service (probably yes as marine has obviously got enough buses to cover all of them)Looks like the Longstone ex London are all at Central and Marines 324 to 350 are withdrawn
It’s not, no.So is it confirmed that 324-347 are withdrawn from service (probably yes as marine has obviously got enough buses to cover all of them)
No they dont. Its tge gearbox which sounds different as the ex London stock have ZF boxes compared to Voith which the native ones haveThe ex London buses also have a different sounding engine to the native Lothian B9TLs
Could they be covering for repaints?341/5 are currently in service with EastCoastbuses this morning.
Probably, seeing 940/1/3 are all currently at Seafield.Could they be covering for repaints?
676-678 have been out for a few days now.677 out and about on the 29 this morning
I would agree that the black-on-black aspect of the new livery looks better - reflects recent deliveries and modernises the buses to an extent. Now that the new ECB/LCB livery has been announced, which will the new E400s for ECB arrive in? I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a split between those already painted before the livery change and those after, which will make for an interesting contrast. I will also be interested as to their interiors, with ECB’s new vehicles to date having their green moquette and coach style seating we will see if this precedent is followed or disregarded.
