Applied 25th Feb and also received the suveymonkey which I replied to. Nothing since...

Did you include a covering letter in your application? But in saying that, if something was wrong then would we have been given the SJT to complete?!

I'm thinking that the applications are just being done as they come in now so those of us that applied early are further down the pile

Exactly this. As I said upthread, don't read anything into some people getting dates before others. Yes, it's frustrating, but it's standard TfL procedure.

Remember that applications are still open: if you haven't heard anything a few days after they close, by all means chase up, but otherwise hang tight. There's a lot of waiting around in TfL, and a lot of being patient. Practice it now, it'll help...!

And it should go without saying but, again, check your junk folders. You wouldn't want to miss out, would you?!

To all the people that are worried because they haven't heard anything yet; don't be scared to call up the recruitment line, they really are a very helpful bunch and they'll tell you exactly where you stand. It beats the hell out of waiting around and at least you'll be at ease once you know either way.

Sometimes email systems can mess up or online tests can fail to work properly, myself being a perfect example as I couldn't access the SJT due to an error on the TFL side and therefore missed the deadline. A quick email and phone call later though and they allowed me to take the test after the deadline. I ended up getting the job. ;)

The number is: 03330062939.

Does anyone know how many potential vacancies there are this time around?

I've been told that they're creating a "pool" of drivers with the goal of replacing all the current NT drivers that want to go full-time. Originally they said that NT drivers would be locked in for 18 months, this was part of a recent dispute which was in the news etc. The new agreement between the company and the unions says that a NT driver can now go full-time after 12 months IF a space becomes available at their nominated depot AND a new fully-trained NT driver is ready to replace them. Just a guesstimate here but there's around 200 NT drivers at the moment, and say 180 want to go full-time...that's how many new guys they'll need.

P.S been told by a manager at my depot that they've hit over 6200 applications already (not sure how true it is but I've no reason to doubt it).

I didn't include a cover letter. - The advert didn't directly say to do so ? Thought why add to the workload of HR folk when they're going to have to sift through thousands of applications.

If numbers banded about of 6k applications is true, that's potentially 6k Letters that need to be read. Assuming read rate of one letter per minute. 100 manhours extra work. That's if they're not using filtering software.

Did include a CV.

Waiting for invite to AC1.

As you've been offered a place at both GTR and Chiltern, would you choose LU over both of those?

Hmm so maybe it's the fact that I did attach a brief covering letter that's let me down!

Im sure you can add a covering letter to your profile after application and they may not jave read your application yet. Always use the key phrases they like to hear. Such as customer service , safety conscious, concentration ability , adaptability etc.

To be fair the auto-reply when you email them says:

Assessment Outcomes: Results will be provided within two weeks of any assessment that you undertake, unless advised otherwise, in writing or within the vacancy advert. You will receive your outcome by email.

For me two weeks will be Monday...

Mate, if you start second guessing yourself like this, you'll drive yourself nuts!!! The job advert is still live, and sometimes there appears to be no logic applied to the order in which the applicants are assessed....... although I'm sure that HR have their methods!!!!

If it helps put your mind at ease, I DID attach a covering letter and received my invite to assessments on Monday afternoon.

Your not going to disadvantage yourself by writing a cover letter, unless you talk utter rubbish lol. I wrote a page long cover letter plus jobs/skills knowledge attachment. There was no questions so i used my knowledge and skills attachment as a bit more to sell myself. To be honest i just prayed someone would actually look at my application properly.when you have thousands of applicants its not a given that someone will even look at your application.

So I phoned recruitment about the status of my application (I applied on 28th March, did the online tests and have heard nothing since), as recommended by the poster from the previous page (thanks for the number!) and they told me that the applicants with the highest scores are contacted first to proceed to the assessment day, and after that they will sift through the other applications. Assessment days will be throughout April, May and probably June. So if you haven't heard anything yet, it's not an indication that your application has been rejected.
Bit of a relief, really, and the guy on the phone was lovely. The waiting game is incredibly annoying, but the guy assured me that people should start hearing back soon since the closing date is looming.

Hmm. But the job advert is still active so I'm not sure about that one.... the wait continues

The SCAAT tests generated by the tool on this forum are more difficult than the actual test(I thought so anyway). You do the same thing in the real test, there's just less of them.
