I note that LUL don't do timetables per se; and I have never really been around on a station long enough to find out, so does anyone know what the actual services along various LUL lines are, or knows where there is a list of them?

For example, how many trains per hour sserve the Metropolitan or Northern branches, and where from / to? Just weekday off-peak timetables will do.

Cheers

No Wikipedia links please, if that site told me night followed day I'd wait up to find out ;)

Trust you to ask this now! :D I have had the entire set of LUL's WTT's sitting on my desk for months, and just as I get rid of them onto someone else, you post this!

I can give you the details for the Metropolitan line. The latest working timetable (330) sees 46 trains in use in the morning peak, and 47 in the evening. During the off-peak the stock requirement is 34, with one being a manned spare. The off-peak frequency is 10 minutes to Watford (6tph), 15 to Amserham/Chesham (2tph each) and a frequent service over the Uxbridge branch (not sure of the exact figure) - between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge, there is a Piccadilly train every 20 minutes off-peak, increasing to every 10 minutes east of Rayners Lane.

The Jubilee has just had a new working timetable (11) to take into account the new automatic train operation system (ATO). Peak service is now 27tph over the core section between Willesden Green and North Greenwich. At peak times, west of Willesden Green there is a train every 2 1/2 minutes to Wembley Park, then every 2-4 minutes to Stanmore.

Timetables are published for the public for Amersham/Chesham and Watford.

Every line has Working timetables which are not published in public format (although are obtainable in paper under Freedom of Information). I do not have this information to hand at present, but there are a number of individuals on here who should do and will be able to get this information quicker than I can.

The busiest single track during peak hours is the Westbound Central line through the West End with 29tph 08.00 - 09.00 on Weekdays.

LU used to say that their services did run to a timetable and didn't just follow each other through the tunnels - I found on the Bakerloo that we used to just all follow the slowest driver around. There'd be a gap in front of him and the rest of us would be following him stick to stick.

I wonder if Mojo could indicate the exact piece of legislation to be quoted when requesting a WTT. Is it the 55 Broadway address to be used?

Idly wondering if there is a WTT (available) for East Midlands' Newark-Grimsby/Cleethorpes line. I was amazed when I took the 18:28 from Grimsby, arriving Newark at 19:57 and realizing that the train would simply sit in the platform with its engines running until its departure at 20:32.

If I recall rightly Working Timetables were 'Private and not for puiblication' meaning that they were not supposed to be available to members of the public.

Here's the website you need to get started with a Freedom of Information request to TfL/LU - http://www.tfl.gov.uk/foi/

I believe they are obliged to respond as a publicly owned company. The majority of the TOCs are private companies and are therefore not covered by the FOI, except East Coast which is in government hands at the moment.

London Overground are covered too.

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/ can help you make a FOI request too.

All WTTs have a table like the following in. If you want I could tell you the details or scan them in (actually scan, not just take a photo of) :P

Thanks for the offer and upload, but I'm really just after end-to-end details if you like (i.e. Morden-High Barnet via Bank - 6tph) ;)

I'll see what I can find. Have some random facts as well (including the maximum number of trains in service at certain times)!
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/modesoftransport/londonunderground/1608.aspx

I'll give the M-F off-peak tph (converted from the intervals in mins as shown above) :)

Central - as above
Met:
Chiltern 2tph, Amersham-BST 2tph, Chesham-BST 2tph (all fast)
Watford-Baker St 6tph (slow)
Uxbridge-Aldgate 6tph (slow)
(overall 12tph HoH-Baker St all stations)

Bakerloo (figures given 11:00-15:15):
Harrow+Wealdstone - Stonebridge Park 6tph
Stonebridge Park - Queens Park 9tph
Queens Park - Elephant + Castle 20tph

District:
Upminster - Tower Hill 12tph
Tower Hill - Gloucester Road 24tph (incl. Circle line)
Gloucester Road - Earls Court 12-24tph
Edgware Road - Earls Court 6tph
Earls Court - Wimbledon 12tph
Earls Court - Richmond 6tph
Earls Court - Ealing Broadway 6tph
(usually services seem to run Ealing Broadway - Tower Hill, Wimbledon/Richmond-Upminster, Wimbledon-Edgware Road)
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Most of the other WTTs I have are quite out of date - despite recieving them only a few months ago the Jubilee one was from 2008! So I think those are all the useful ones I have - might post some more in a bit :)
