Seen a decker on the 17 yesterday at Partick , rare or what?
The only deckers they've got are the DAF Gemini's and the one E400. Last I know the E400 was at Johnstone and the 17 is a Johnstone route. It's usually the older Citaro's that are permanently on that route.

Isnt it just the current x21 but with higher fares

Mcgills is in melt down right now with the amount of cutback its doing Coatbridge is now a lost cause, Barrhead is about to shut and it does seem some cuts will be made to accommodate all the fleet movements. I doubt it will have money to be at the student fairs this autumn. Where did it all go wrong? I think parlty going to Dumbarton first, that was just draft..
Exactly. This behaviour needs to stop. My staff and diesel suppliers won’t take a 29% cut so the money has to come from somewhere. Yet another round of service cuts to marginal routes and further isolate communities
Students hit out at McGill's bus bosses over 'discriminatory' new day tickets

Students hit out at McGill's bus bosses over 'discriminatory' new tickets
Bosses at bus company McGill's are facing criticism after announcing plans for a new ticket for students.
Earlier this week the company communicated plans to introduce a new student all-day ticket, however, the discounted offer will only be available to those aged 16 to 22.
The new policy does not affect existing student 1 week, 4-week and 10-week tickets offered by McGill's.
The new tickets will now see hundreds of people travelling to colleges and universities in the west of Scotland asked to pay more to travel than their younger classmates.
Students at University of the West of Scotland (UWS) have now said McGill's could face a campaign if the tickets are not opened up to those of all ages.
Dan Hutchison, 24, a UWS student travelling from Glasgow, said: "UWS is a very diverse university with a large mature student body, blocking the student tickets from these students because of age is unfair and unjust.
"I hope McGills will change this promptly to allow all student this ticket. If not we will be organising a campaign to put pressure on them."
Others have called the change discriminatory and outrageous, and asked for "equality for all students".
Karen MacKay said: "The sheer discrimination of McGill's buses, bringing in a policy that discriminates against mature students.
"Only students aged between 16 to 22 will be entitled to student discounted fares, if you are a student over 23 even with a valid student card you will still have to pay full prices.
"This is outrageous."
In response, McGill's have said that discounts on longer-term tickets remain in place for all age groups.
Managing Director, Ralph Roberts: “We’re delighted to announce we are re-introducing a modified student all-day ticket from Monday 11th March.
"Our excellent value for money student 1 week, 4-week and 10-week tickets - with a 15 per cent discount on adult fares - continue unchanged.
"We have amended our student policy so that our new student all-day tickets can only be accessed by those attending college or university full time, aged between 16 and 22. Our other student tickets will not be affected by this policy.”

I'm not particularly well versed in the details of the law, but how exactly does this differ from offering child tickets? I ask because if there is actually a legitimate issue with this, I potentially stand to benefit from it as a 25 year old full-time student. Are McGills though actually aware they could be in breach of the Equality Act by defining what age groups can buy the Student All Day Ticket?
Age is a 'Protected Characteristic' under the act so either they are just stupid, or they are discriminating against older students. I'd like to see someone challenge them on this to see what sort of response they get.
I'd challenge them directly, but I don't have a very good rapport with McGills due to events in the past...

From Citizens Advice.Businesses are allowed to offer concessions or discounts based on age - for example, cheaper access to leisure facilities for 18-25 year olds, or pensioner lunch deals.
