Not sure, but the light loco path inbound was auto activated and hasn't yet left, which suggests to me it may not run. Nothing showing on Traksy for its departure either...Does anyone know what class 37 will be pulling the units to Newport?
That's interesting, thanks. It may be because of that. I hadn't thought of weatherI'd be surprised if the cancellation wasn't because of the weather, it's not been nice here in the wirral for the last few hours
Could be that Merseyrail are deciding whether it should be a 507, 508 or 777 that is sent to Sims nextLight loco path cancelled. Anyone know the reason why? Units not ready or a ROG side issue?
Has the move to Simms been rescheduled?
777s are brand new so they won’t be sent, it is probably 507012 and 508115 as they have already been withdrawn.Could be that Merseyrail are deciding whether it should be a 507, 508 or 777 that is sent to Sims next
No path in yet.I do not know yet but I believe it is on Sunday
I'd presume it has been re-planned, but there's no paths in the system yet. I imagine they'll wait until the usual Sunday/Monday path.Has the move to Simms been rescheduled?
Thanks for the explanation. Any idea on its rescheduling? The units did not go to Simms last night, the move was cancelled due to issues with the Class 37.
I think the scrap move will be this week but it won’t necessarily stick to the normal schedule, it will probably run before Sunday. I’ll keep an eye out on RTT.Thanks for the explanation. Any idea on its rescheduling?
If the scrap move is to run before Sunday I believe it will run on Thursday as not many 37s are being used on that day.I think the scrap move will be this week but it won’t necessarily stick to the normal schedule, it will probably run before Sunday. I’ll keep an eye out on RTT.
I was asking a member who clearly knows what the plans are, but you're working on guesswork. It is more likely they'll use the Sunday path, as that's what they usually use. I'll await more trusted confirmation.I think the scrap move will be this week but it won’t necessarily stick to the normal schedule, it will probably run before Sunday. I’ll keep an eye out on RTT.

It has been known for them to use a 57 before rather than a 37. I'm not up to date on ROGs fleet though, so no idea if it's still an option.I think the scrap move will be this week but it won’t necessarily stick to the normal schedule, it will probably run before Sunday. They've no longer got any 57s.It has been known for them to use a 57 before rather than a 37. I'm not up to date on ROGs fleet though, so no idea if it's still an option.
Cheers for that! They've no longer got any 57s.
Not gone to Newport yet.If anyone is interested the following were seen out yesterday (Saturday 24th June):
Chester: 005 / 010 /029 / 124 / 128 / 131 ?
Ellesmere Port: 011 / 013 / 111
New Brighton: 016 / 020 / 032 / 137
West Kirby: 002 / 021 / 026 / 033 / 112
Southport: 023 / 028 / 031 / 104 / 108 / 114 / 125 / 130 / 136 / 139
Kirkby: 017 only the rest were class 777.
Ormskirk: one unidentified set and the rest were class 777.
Stabled at New Brighton were 015 / 038
There were at least 5 stabled at Southport, and a further two at Kirkdale with at least one set visible at Birkenhead North.
777 005 was noted at West Kirby. There was no sign of recently withdrawn 008 and 115. does anyone know if / when they were sent to Newport ?
Why for beyond Fazakerley not Kirkby? All services will require a battery unit to operate beyond Fazakerley
I'm pretty sure Kirkby isn't closing? Is it because Kirkby is closing?
Therefore Fazakerley will be the last stop?
Last Kirkby service with a 507/8 will be the 23:55 LVC - KIR on Friday night. All services will require a battery unit to operate beyond Fazakerley when the line reopens on Monday 14th August.
The agreement between Merseyrail & Network Rail is that no 777/0's are to go beyond Fazakerley, therefore only 777/1's can run beyond Fazakerley.I think you mean Kirkby, not Fazakerley don't you? The third rail is to Kirkby anyway and what I have heard, battery operation only comes into affect between there and Headbolt Lane. Have you heard something different then?
Just answer another poster, Kirkby Station remains very much open and remains part of the network, it serves a community near by as well as the nearby town centre.
I never imagined a Class 777/0 being used on that particular service anyway, as it been made clear from the outset when Headbolt Lane opened, it would be only battery provide units (now Class 777/1) would used on the line to Kirkby. Again my understanding 'battery power' is only between Kirkby and Headbolt Lane, the remainder to / from Fazakerly etc remains 3rd rail power. The agreement between Merseyrail & Network Rail is that no 777/0's are to go beyond Fazakerley, therefore only 777/1's can run beyond Fazakerley.
Kirkby is the limit of the 3rd rail but 777/1's are to be used to prevent gapping if one overshoots Kirkby station.
