There were only ever 3 PEP units, scrapped many years ago. Having lived in the area since the 507s were introduced I can state categorically that they have never been referred to as PEPs. The clue is in what the term stood for - Prototype Electro Pneumatic. Just three sets were built and the knowledge gained from their operation influenced the design of Classes 314, 315, 507 and 508. Those units were derivations. That does not make them PEPs.Does anyone happen to know if peps are on the new Brighton line still?
Not booked no, but are still appearing every now and then. Normally can find out what’s on each line on here in the morningsDoes anyone happen to know if peps are on the new Brighton line still?

They still have booked all-day work on the Southport line. Six diagrams (three paired formations) on this route, one of which misses two Hunts Cross return trips between the peaks. Workings are the 07.42, 07.57 and 08.12 Southport - Hunts Cross and 08.51, 09.06 and 09.21 Hunts X - Southport, repeating every 2 hours 30 minutes except the aforementioned missing workings.I’m making an ad-hoc visit to Liverpool tomorrow, could you tell me if the 507s are still on all-day duties, or if they now only just work peak trains.
Also, if someone could let me know what the 507 workings are tomorrow, I’d be grateful. (I know that won’t be known until tomorrow!)
Many Thanks,
M
No 507s have worked this route since last Wednesday, but in all probability there will still be the odd one on occasions.Does anyone happen to know if peps are on the new Brighton line still?
Was still in Southport sidings powered down when I went past yesterday I believeAre there any updates on 507 011?
Thanks for your information, most helpful.Just like that, there is a 507 on the New Brighton line today - 507010 - after a week without. It is in charge of the XX.38 departures from New Brighton (XX.05 from Liverpool Central) for anyone interested.
According to Part Time Spotter it's on the Hunt's Cross-Southport todayThanks for your information, most helpful.

507001 (and 015) are on the Southport line working which misses two trips during the day. They should form either the 15.12 or 15.27 Southport - Hunts X service next (it varies). Thanks for your information, most helpful.

What do you think about 011 it's withdrawn and graffitied and I'm sadLooks like 507023 has been graffitied which is a shame

Thanks for that, day planned around 769s and 507s with a very complex trip from Ramsbottom while car being serviced. As of 0500, this is all that is allocated for today, just the 3 Southport diagrams, West Kirby and New Brighton 100% 777, there is one diagram on the Chester line that starts at New Brighton at 0632 ecs to Ellesmere Port which has no allocation yet, if anyone finds out whats on it, I'd be grateful as I'm heading to Liverpool straight from work for a last trip!
Update, it a 777!
Your welcome! At least I’ll get 2 of the pairs, 1/2 hour in Southport for a quick pint aswell! Thanks for that, day planned around 769s and 507s with a very complex trip from Ramsbottom while car being serviced.
