anything by Evanesance - which I freind insisted on playing at the end of a holiday, which made it all the worse lol

Most things by Coldplay - I had to give up listening to radio one because of them.

The author of I Hate Myself and Want to Die offers his top 25 miserable tracks, which a quick Google search has revealed.

Coldplay is a really good band.
where is your patriotism?
radio stations here are playing their songs all the time as well, but i have a solution for you - don't listen to radio so much.

Ah yes i heard a 9/11 song which was remixed with dj sammy iirc. Very sad

I listened to three words, and decided it was going to be too sad, so abandoned it!

:D :D :D :D :D

Ah there's plenty of controversy on Radio 4 as well. In the past year we've had the usual arguments over cricket, mutiny over scrapping of the theme, the racists going on about West Indian people being heard on R4 and sentiments that one presenter go on permanent maternity leave... aren't we a wonderful bunch?!

Yeah, I find that very depressing; every time I listen to it I want to spill sulpuric acid over the source of the music, or myself. :D

Love will tear us apart-Joy Division. The guy suicided shortly afterwards.
Hurt-Johnny Cash
Seasons in the sun- Terry Jacks. Sad and depressingly cheesy in a 70s way.
Fields of Athenry- the Dubliners.
Almost any country song, but for self indulgent misery try one of these-Home for sale or Buenas Noches From A Lonely Room by Dwight Yoakam, Whiskey Lullaby by Brad paisley and Alison Krauss, Travelling Soldier by the Dixie Chicks or even Jolene by Dolly Parton
Most Depeche mode songs.
Under the bridge-Red Hot Chilli Peppers
and of course the metallica ballads already mentioned + Fade to black, my friend of misery, the unforgiven..

Just off to take todays dose of escitalopram :)

Ok Evanescence and Keane are great competitors. But Adam's Song by Blink 182 by far has to be the saddest song ever...Man every time I hear that song I just feel so......u know......downhearted

Truly saddest song and yet possibly one of the greatest.

Oh and Julia's theme from Eastenders is pretty sad too (you know, the sad music which they very occasionally play at the end)
