I find it very interesting that Apple products seem to be a benchmark for other products. Are Apple so good that when a non-apple product comes out, people check to see how they've performed against apple?

You'll find the N95 was out here long before the iPhone.

and you'll find not much of the UK has HSDPA coverage, if it does, it's either not very good or it's in central London.

Thats not a problem for some of us 8)

Erm, so they text the number that is broken? That makes sense ...

The idea is that they don't keep the SIM when you hand the phone in for repairs, use a spare handset, hire one or give them your landline number as an alternative...

You'll also find the iPhone is being used as a comparison to the N95, so Nick's post is correct.

Besides, if the iPhone was so terrible wouldn't usage figures be total crap?

I'll repeat ... Apple in the heavy majority of cases will just give you a new handset if you go instore.

No because they are so hyped up as the years must have gadget, like most gadgets, people buy things because of the way they are publicised - basic marketing principle, the iphone has been in our face for over a year and thus because it took so long for the product to be retailed it must be good surely - which simply is not the case in many peoples eyes. Lets face it, not everybody wants to use o2 either.

One point - who's been hyping it up?

Certainly not Apple - o2 have a bit.

However - the simple fact that the media have hyped it up says it all.

The only People I know who are raving about the iPhone are folk who already are stand alone Ipod users for me one is to chunky & the other to long, after its launch the original batch of N95 were prone to lock ups caused by a firmware problem , I assume this has been overcome.

Actually that's been a mix of positive and negative reviews. Not always been hype.
