Please can I ask the ID and purpose for 5D27 20:00 Crewe to Chester on 19th May? It is saying VST under the type.

It was a TFW unit (identity not known) and the purpose was that it would be required to be moved from A to B and nothing more sinister than that. Could be one of a hundred reasons and an everyday type of event

I've done some digging and find that 1D27 Crewe to Chester was cancelled due to late running so unit ran light to position it.

It was 175011 which had a fault so ran ecs back to Chester and onto the Alstom depot.

TfW to operate Class 37s on the Rhymney Line

Glad i never made the trip to Caerdydd for the supposed final run on Friday now! I'd have been VERY cranky and no amount of Brains would make it worth the treck after such an epic bowl!! I feel for the lads who made the effort and missed out. Would be nice if TfW surprised us all tonight and...
